THE
SECRET/CURSE OF MONKEY ISLAND
1990,
1991 LucasArts
Ahh,
Monkey Island. What attracted me the most about his series was the
off-the-wall humor. This is yet another game that they had at school.
I think it came with the new computers they got in the office. I
know I went in there several times and played it after school and
I decided that I had to have it.
Amateur
pirate Guybrush Threepwood decides that its time to become a not-so-amateur
pirate in the 19th century. He starts off on Melee island by trying
to mingle with the tiny pirate society there. But these arent just
any normal pirates. No! They dual each other with bad insults and
even more horrible comebacks. What do you find when you dig up that
buried treasure? Thats right folks, free T-shirts! What were you
expecting anyway!? The game just wouldnt be complete without Stan
the over-energeic used ship salesman.
Guybrush
does actually end up on a half-way important mission to rid the
caribbean of the ghost pirate LeChuck, which in itself leads to
more humor and more strange events. Have you ever seen a 3-headed
monkey, or a guy put a 5 foot long Q-tip out of his pocket? Fear!
Most of the characters are re-occuring throughout the rest of the
series, but I've only had the privlage of playing the first two.
If you can find them, I completely recommend them!
Oh
yeah, can someone please give me the recipe for "Grog"?
