SHADOW OF THE SERPENT RIDERS (1994)

This
game came along at the end of the Doom era (for me anyway). Right
off the bat, my friend Sam and I were playing multiplayer to this
medival gothic type fantasy first person shooter. It was definately
a welcome escape from blasting of aliens with the biggest, baddest
guns around. A very cool idea from ID was to implement the codes
from Doom into this game, but if you tried to use them, it would
do the exact opposite. I.E. Doom's god mode would kill you instantly
if you tried to use it here. Brilliant I say! With some work, the
end of the game was fairly easy to reach as in doom, but I dont
recall the 2nd or 3rd episodes at all. Could be because I never
actually played them? I can't even remember even though I still
have this game installed on my laptop today. It seemed I just started
to get into this game when it's sequel, Hexen, came out and totally
buried this one! Check out that review instead! Now get outta here!
