DIABLO
(1997)
Blizzard
My
friend Sam told me to download the demo to this new Blizzard release
called Diablo. I logon to their web site and..."50 Megs!!?!?
For a freakin' demo!?!" I bit the bullet and did it anyway.
When it finally finished about 5 hours later, I didn't regret it
one bit. You are trust into the part of an adventurer in a town
that has been plagued by demons. I remember the graphics were impressed
and the characters just begged to spoken with about their lives.
What was the most attractice part about Diablo? The replayability!
All dungeons and items were completely randomly generated from a
bank of stats guaranteeing a new adventure every time you boot up.
Once
again, I had to turn to Dad to buy me a copy of this before it was
too late and the world sold out of them. He said he would get it
to me for my birthday. "What?!? Thats 3 weeks from now! Noooooooooo!"
Well he ended up giving it to me a few weeks early, conviently while
my friend Ed was staying the night. So we turned to Diablo instead
of working on the school project he had come over to work on. Well
in that first night, this enemy called "The Butcher" was
giving us problems but we eventually muscled through it.
Sam
and I played this game multiplayer for a while and I finally did
get that level 50 sorceress everyone strives for. Good game? It
was fantastic? Would I play it now?...Not with Diablo 2 out there!
