As Asians we should be proud that this concept could stand scrutiny from western influences. As Filipinos who already know a little something about karma, we should be able to apply it in our life, work and career.

VI. 7 BENEFITS AND ADVANTAGES UPON GAINING KNOWLEDGE OF KARMA AT WORK

  • helps avoid similar mistakes - the employee becomes more aware of the procedures involved in his job and assignment because he is made aware that his mistakes has consequences beyond his immediate control;

  • improves human relationships- the employee adopts a more personal and friendly approach to his co-workers knowing that everybody in an office is in some way responsible for his office-mates;

  • enhances sensitivity to the needs of the problem- the employee will be more attuned to the work situation or the problem he is facing. Instead of looking at a problem only in a textbook manner, he will feel, live, and experience it;

  • Improves memory by association of events- the employee will learn how to "file" information in his memory which will help him categorize his experiences. This will lead to easy recollection of the information in the future;

  • improves self-control and develops self-confidence, cleans conscience and clears the mind, and is a permanent knowledge.

    VII. GOAL SETTING FOR SUCCESS

    A good worker follows the rules of karma but a successful worker does more. He follows the rules of karma PLUS he sets goals for himself to achieve. In other words we may be motivated to finish our work and please our superiors; but if we are motivated to work because we want to reach our personal goals, we will be able to achieve more and have a more fulfilling career.
