SHANGRI LA'S RASA SAYANG RESORT

This superb, deluxe resort is set in 15 acres of tropical garden on Batu Ferringhi Beach. The airport is a 45 minute drive away and Georgetown is 30 minutes. There is also the added convenience of the lively night market and numerous local restaurants within walking distance.

The 512 guest rooms are all air conditioned with en suite bathroom and features TV, mini bar, in room safe, tea and coffee making facilities and a balcony or patio.

Superior rooms in the main wing have hill views. Deluxe rooms are sea facing with palm tree views. Executive Sea facing rooms in the Garden Wing are the most spacious and are closest to the beach with larger balconies.

Resort facilities include a choice of restaurants and bars, lobby bar with regular
entertainment, two pools - one with waterslide, Jacuzzi, health club and gym and free childrens club. Guests can also use the facilities at the adjacent Golden Sands Resort as well as free non motorised water sports. There is a free shuttle bus service into Georgetown.
PENANG, 370km from KL on Malaysia's northwestern coast, is a confusing amalgam of state and island. Everything of interest in Penang State is on Penang Island - Pulau Pinang (Betel Nut Island) in Malay - a large island of 285 square kilo-metres upon which the first British settlement on the Malay Peninsula was sited.

Penang's outstanding beaches and exotic sights have made it one of the most popular destinations in the region. The island is linked to the mainland by the Penang Bridge, which at 13.5 km long is the longest bridge in Asia. Butterworth, has ferry services across to the island.
