I thought that we managed to come
out of that very well. I think that on balance, it's better for
the career of the band in the future that it did a more
difficult set that impressed people who were really into the
band, rather than doing just a crowd-pleasing set. |

If, I am honest, yeah. Yes, we
still keep ourselves fit playing tennis, running and playing
soccer. I put myself on a serious running regiment well before
the tour ever began. We keep ourselves in good shape. |

The audience were stuck with space
heaters and a tent - and that nearly blew down in the middle of
the howling rain! Not to mention the semi-naked nymphs, who
didn't have anything except a couple of torches to keep them
warm. |

I find it more difficult to relate
to songs that don't have stories associated with them or don't
have a story that I can manufacture in my head. If I can put a
movie together in my head when I'm singing a song, then I find
life much easier. |

We're in
rehearsals at the moment [for the tour], and I have my amps set
up pretty much the same way. So when we come to the new songs
[while rehearsing], I'm actually doing the same thing I did in
the studio. |

It's kind of what we expect from
Europe anyway, it's always been Maiden's stronghold, but as
we've had a No. 1 album in Greece, Sweden and places like that,
Top 10 pretty much everywhere and a gold disc in Spain already,
it's been amazing. |

He gives a nod to the fact that he
likes to "go with the energy" of the band he is working
with. He noted that Maiden's Steve Harris was more of a hard line writer, opting for a more straight ahead style, which Adrian also
admires. |

It's a tough call - but just as a
general consensus is reached that we should take off without
further delay, a member of the ground staff is spotted jogging
across the tarmac with the sarnies. Steve opens a window, grabs
the plate - and we're off! |
