To most La Sallian students, I suppose, when asked to describe their university life, some of them would say that it is both exciting and challenging. There are many experiences to face and to enjoy. New people to meet and sometimes the diversity is overwhelming. One will learn how to deal with different personalities and likes of the people they come across with. At first, I thought that the study habits I got used to during high school will still be an effective method to apply in college. This assumption brings me to a realization that it is effective only when the efforts are doubled *sigh*.  Here in college, you have to double the time you spent on studying than you got used to during high school. It is not a good practice to do the assignments during break time because it causes a lot of hassles and professors have this instinctive feeling and idea about the work of their students. Nah, I can’t afford to get a 0.0 just because I was not able to make an essay in my Philosophy class…the sad part is, it is not my major subject… During high school, I always keep an organizer to list the things I should accomplish. Here in DLSU, I realized that it is not anymore useful, (1.) I don’t want to put it in my bag because it is bulky. (2) A small notebook can do, or post- it because after 2 days, you have to replace it with another new list of things to do…hay…but college life is not just about studying your lecture notes and passing the examination, it also about widening your social life (my favorite dimension!!!) I am not an active member of any organization or club, perhaps I would be next school year but I can say that I have established friendships that have helped me during rough spots and dryness. I am fortunate to have Jerrold, Leah, Marti and Sunny as my barkada and I am also glad that I have known more Val this term. Every human being stresses out at some point. When this happens to me, I always bear in mind that I can work this out well and this is just temporary. I usually go to malls to see a movie, bowling, billiards and the best of them all—shopping. At some level, there is also this doubt if the course I am taking is really meant for me but the important thing here is that one should know his or her strengths, limitations and the difficulties no matter how big or how small. College life is an exciting and challenging journey that would prepare us in the future. Best luck to all of us!
