MAHAYANA SUTRA
ATTAINMENT OF KUNDALINI YOGA PART 3. MAITREYA-TAISHI.
FAITH AND REFUGE WHICH IS NECESSARY FOR ENLIGHTENMENT

The isolated practice went on so as to pull my spiritual stage as
high as possible before I go to the American Branch Center as the
director. The Master told me to obtain the high level technique to
freely enter Samadhi.
The attainment of Jnana Yoga was also the task for me.
Sep. 21st (Mon)
I begin to be irritated because I can't enter Samadhi while
meditating. Since it needs enormous amount ofconcentration, I lost
my confidence that I can do it. I think of my breath though I
mustn't do so. I think of various things only in vain.
Sep. 22rd (Tue)
I practiced until evening. No development at all. On the
contrary, egoistic idea arose which made me unable to practice. It
seems that I can never succeed no matter how many year I may
practice in such manner. After being perplexed for long time, I
made a phone call to the Master and said, "I lost my hope to go on
with my spiritual practice." Then, the Master replied, "I was
waiting for it."
My biggest break down came at this time. In order to enter
Samadhi, I thought of my sitting postures, place to concentrate,
but everything failed in vain.
I couldn't enter Samadhi. Fear occurs. Perhaps it is better to do
more Pranayama. Perhaps it is better to sit in such manner. Maybe
it is better to lean back on the wall. I thought and thought.
This made me hard to do meditative practice. I became unable to
do spiritual practice itself. I thought it was my wit's end.
As a result, what I had learned from this was;
"Now, you are trying to obtain Samadhi using your brain or various
techniques. However, the actual Samadhi or enlightenment can be
given not by techniques but by thoroughly doing what was taught by
Guru. It can naturally be obtained if one keeps concentrating on
what was given without thinking of something else.
Attainment is not something which you can obtain by trying to
obtain by oneself, but it is given by Guru."
Then I recieved the special initiation from the Master. It
consists of two things; the transference of energy so that my body
can be in better condition to enter Samadhi, and special means to
make the state of mind which can concentrate on technical practice.
After recieveing this initiation, he also taought me the special
technique to concentrate on Nada sound*.
This made me recover from the worse situation. I thougt of trying
for little more. And I became able to enter Samadhi for 30
minutes, 1 hour, 1.5 hour, and on and on. So I manage to enter
Samadhi after meditation, and to do this process over and over.
SO AS TO ATTAIN JNANA YOGA
When I enter Samadhi, I suddenly lose my consciousness. When I am
in dark tendency, I see nothing and found myself being unconcious
for long period of time. When I am in good condition, I see
visions there.
For example, I saw the vision ofmy attachment which I had never
seen or thought about before. Or the vision which can be my past
lives.
But it is different to ordinary deep meditative state because I
find my breath being completely stopped. And when it is finished,
my head is absolutely clear and feel very good.
My body is rather uncomfortable and my heart is beating fast. Of
course, my breath is stopped. Though this situation didn't last
always, I could be convinced that I was really in the state of
Samadhi.
But this does not happen at the moment I sat. First I raise my
energy by Pranayama, then meditate, and when I became sleepy I do
"the technique to visualize Nada". As I listen to the sounds, I
lose my consciousness and start to see visions of the other worlds.
The process to enter Samadhi should be completely recognized in
the real sense, and I could once actually do so intentionally. As
I do this over and over, the time for Samadhi seems to get longer
and longer.
Concerning with Jnana Yoga, I were to eradicate the visions which
appears at the time of the third process of Tsandali. However,
various visions stopped since the beginning of September.
This indicates the purification of the Astral world which was done
by Jnana Yoga. However, since I see visions when I enter Samadhi,
I should do my purification of the Causal world. In order to do
so, I should enter Samadhi over and over so that I can practice
Jnana Yoga even in the state of Samahdi. So I need more experience
of Samadhi, and my consciousness needs to be more clear.
Concerning with the Jnana Yoga, I was told that I only have one
more step to go. This is the theme for my further practice.
COMMENT OF HIS HOLINESS THE MASTER, SHOKO ASAHARA CONCERNING WITH
MAITREYA-TAISHI'S ATTAINMENT OF KUNDALINI YOGA
I think he is a geneous in spiritual practice. From the first
sight, I could understand that he used to be in high spiritual
stage in his past lives.
It took only 5 months after he came to me for his attainment. It
is incredibly fast speed. What's more, he is not so impressed of
his attainment, and he consider that it is natural. His lack of
deep impression to attainment comes from the fact that he had
already experienced the attainment in his past lives. And this is
also the reason why he could clearly experience hell and heaven in
the Astral world using his body of manifestation. These experience
are very similar to what I myself used to experience.
Also, we can see from his experience the characteristic of
Kundalini Yoga which is to remember the memory of the past lives.
If he accumulate more merit and keep doing his spiritual practice,
I am sure he will be able to attain to the spiritual stage which is
much higher than how he was in his past lives. I also feel the
responsibility to pull him up.
He is now doing his best to accumulate merit in New York. His
spiritual stage may go up soon.
By the way, the orange light which he saw at the time of
attainment is the color of Kundalini.
