The different races of beings that inhabit Krynn, and a short description of them.
Elf (Qualinesti, Silvanesti, Dargonesti. Dimernesti, and Kagonesti)- Slimmer and slightly shorter than humans, elves live to be up to 1200 years old. There are five subraces of elves, Silvanesti, Qualinesti, Kagonesti, Dargonesti and Dimernesti. The Silvanesti and Kagonesti are the oldest subraces. The Elves were created by Paladine. The Dimernesti and Dargonesti are Sea Elves, products of the Graygem. Draconian (Baaz, Sivak, Kapak, Bozak, and Aurak)- The Draconians were the backbone of the Dragonarmies during the War of The Lance. The Draconians are created by corrupting good Dragons' eggs. There are 5 species of Draconians. Aurakare created with Gold Dragon eggs, Sivak with Silver Dragon eggs, Bozak with Bronze Dragons eggs, kapak with Copper Dragon eggs, and Baaz with Brass Dragon eggs.
Dragon (Gold, Silver, Bronze, Brass, Copper, Red, Blue, Green, Black,White,Fire/Chaos, Shadow, Sea, and Undead)- The most ancient race on Krynn, Dragons come in three forms, good, chromatic (evil), and other. The good: Gold, Silver, Bronze, Brass and Copper. The bad: Red, Blue, Black, Green, and White. The others: Fire/Chaos, Shadow, Sea, and Undead (Dracoliches). Dragons have very sharp claws and teeth, and have many types of breath attacks to attack its opponents with. There are also Othlorx Dragons, Dragons that choose not to be involved in the wars over in Ansalon.
Dwarf (Mountain, Hill, And Gully Dwarves)- Dwarves are stouter and shorter than either humans or elves, the dwarves are known for their great beards and their craftsmanship. Their names reflect where they live: Hill dwarves live on the hills outside of the underground kingdom of Thorbardin, while mountain dwarves live inside the mountain fortress, Thorbardin. There is a third race of dwarves, known as Gully dwarves, who generally are not recognized by their short bretheren. They are amazingly tough as far as bruising goes, but aren't very smart. They have trouble paying attention to anything for more than 30 seconds, generally cannot count beyond 2, and grovel and beg when confronted with any sort of adversity.
Goblin- A race that is known to have a severe body odor, the Goblins are plainly, quite stupid. They are often in packs that are controlled by an officer, often a Hobgoblin.
Gnome- Almost the same in appearance as dwarves, Gnomes talk very fast, and, in fact, can listen and talk at the same time. No invention a Gnome might make will ever work. Besides, if a Gnome's inventions do work, he is generally considered insane by the remainder of the gnome community.
Half-Elf- A mixed breed between Elf and Human, "pure" Elves despise them for their short life, and all other creatures (except for Kender) despise them for being Elves.
Human- Human are the most adaptable race. They can almost be found anywhere on Krynn. The Humans vary more than any other race in skin color, hair color, and even size. Typically they live no more than 100 years. Humans tend to muster their efforts for immediate gain. Humans were created during the Age of Starbirth by Gilean, the god of neutrality.
Ice Bear- A strong bear that lives in Icereach, these creatures are hard to see in the snow or ice, and can easily capture prey, be it food or adventurers.
Kender- Kender are small people characterized by an absolute lack of fear, and an insatiable curiosity. Basically, Kender are unwitting thieves. They were created by Graygem by corrupting Elves or perhaps Gnomes.
Minotaur- Minotaur have the head of a Bull but the body of a human, are are quite broad and muscular, well over 7 feet tall.
Ogre/Irda- They are the most ancient race on Krynn. The first-born they were called. At the beginning of time they were tall, beautiful and smart, but they were consumed by arrogance and greed. Cursed by the gods they became large, ugly, monsters, set in a form that would show their personality. The Irda are the remains of the original Ogres, beautiful and smart.
Specters- A ghost that inhabits any area that has dead creatures in it, they speak an unknown language. Mages seem to be the only ones who can understand and communicate with the Specter.
