| People who have suffered oppression can recognize oppression when it appears in very different contexts. And the question is, Can you recognize that you have been oppressed without turning yourself into a victim? Do you say, ''No one has suffered like I have suffered''? Or do you say, ''What I have learned from this situation is not my uniqueness but that suffering really is awful and people should not suffer''?
