| Announcing.... The First-ever Children From the Shadows Chapbook |
| From Paul Bosko�s soon-to-be-hit song �Defend My Children�* to the incredible work performed at the Open Mics and Speak Out each year, there are volumes of writing and art inspired by the empowering experience that is CFS, and WE WANT TO PUBLISH IT. Prose (fiction and non-fiction), poetry, and music lyrics, non-English work with English translation, spoken word, painting, drawing, photography, and collage and other mediums are all welcome. I want to celebrate the lives, passions and wisdom of CFS attendees, as well as the phenomenon that is Children From the Shadows, so submit work that reflects your experience as an LGBTQQTS/ally youth. The chapbook will premiere at CFS X in March 2003! DEADLINE: DECEMBER 1, 2002 GUIDELINES: Send writing as an IBM-compatible email attachment (preferred method) to [email protected]. Before August 31, send art work and hard copies of writing (if you don�t have email) to: Maggie Crowley, 11 Mary Rd, Burlington, CT 06013. Include your name, address, phone number and email with each submission. Due to space limitations I may not be able to publish everything I receive, but feel free to send multiple submissions. Your work WILL NOT be censored. Depending on space available, writing may be edited for length with the artist�s permission. Since this is a low-budget photocopier operation, your artwork will only look as good as the copy you send us. Scan or photocopy art (I cannot be responsible for originals) and reduce it to fit (with margins) on an 8 � X 11 inch piece of paper. It may be reduced further and I will try to work with each artist to best showcase his/her work. All artists will retain the copyright to their work. All submissions must be received by December 1, 2002! |
