           Memory Lane is a separate and secure area on the 1st floor of Magnolia Royale. Built for only 20 residents, it is specially designed and staffed to meet the individual needs of residents with Alzheimer's disease or other memory impairment. Preserving the dignity of Memory Lane residents is of utmost importance. Close coordination with family and physicians allows us to design a care plan for the residents' unique and changing needs.

Who is Memory Lane designed for?
Memory Lane is a special care unit designed to serve those with dementia resulting from various causes rendering them mentally impaired and in need of security and assistance with the activities of daily living.

What is the atmosphere of Memory Lane?

With a home-like setting and a beautiful garden, Memory Lane is like living in a spacious home. The corridor is painted in soft pastel colors and decorated with nostalgic artwork. The security features are sensitively designed to preserve the dignity and comfort of the setting. Memory Lane was designed to feel intimate and to provide lots of opportunities for the quiet enjoyment of flowers, fresh air, sunshine and a cozy dining and living room.

How many rooms are available in Memory Lane?

10 rooms are available for double occupancy. We also offer private occupancy. The rooms are spacious, and beautifully furnished and decorated. We encourage families to bring a favorite chair, lamp, pillows or an other personal items that may enhance the comfort and well being of our Memory Lane residents.

How many residents can live in Memory Lane?
To reinforce the small scale and home-like atmosphere of Memory Lane, only 20 residents can reside in Memory Lane.

Is the staff specially trained?

The Memory Lane aid services team is trained in the care of elderly residents suffereing from dementia. This staff is required to attend continuing education on an annual basis. The staff is on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Memory Lane is specifically licensed by the State of California to provide care and housing to residents with dementia.

What type of supportive care services are available at Memory Lane?
The dedicated aid staff at Memory Lane encourages its residents to participate in daily living activities, socializing at the dining room table, enjoying a walk in the beautiful garden, watching a movie, attending a musical program, and participating in daily exercises. The goal is to maintain as high a quality of life as possible.

What is the monthly rental charge to live in Memory Lane?

As of Summer 2002 the monthly rental charge is $2,600 and $4,500 for double and single occupancy, respectively. The monthly rental charge may change from time to time.

Is government assistance available?

No. The Memory Lane resident and/or family pay the monthly rent from their private resources.
