Activity
II: Go to a local forest with your
students. During this one hour trip list down all the eatable
species that you find there. Take photos of forest and eatable
species. Go back to classroom.
NOTE:
If you have a portable recorder please take it with you in the
forest. Make a live report there. You can use this in your
Activity III
ENO Material (one message
per school)
Make a title: Forest Photos from + your school ID. Choose a
category: This Is Our Nature. In the contents box tell us about
your trip to forest. Attach 4-5 photos with your document. Save
and close.
ACTIVITY
III: A STORY FOR ENO RADIO
Make interviews
for ENO radio concerning this theme. To illustrate your story, try
to find 4-5 photos. In each story, remember to introduce you, your
school and country at first!
The deadline for this story is 25th of December
2005.
PHASE
I: Planning

Choose a topic
from the list below

Find a person
who is suitable for your story, take contact with him/her and
arrange a time for an interview. In the interview use either mp3
recorder or computer and microphone.

Before the
interview check and go through all the questions you will ask. Send
the questions to your quest before hand. The
actual recording will be easier for both of you then

II: An interview and recording

Check
that the volume level of recording is good (high enough)

With
your voice and gestures, show to your quest that you are
interested in this topic! This motivates your guest and makes
him/her feel more comfortable.

Ask
your questions politely, not too fast. Give some space to
answers, don’t speak at the same time with your quest

III: Editing

Get
your recording to computer and use software like Audacity

Cut
the extra material and check the level of recording. If it is
too low, raise the level (go to Edit).

Save
the recording -> Save as mp3

IV: Send the story and photos

Send
the mp3 file and photos to email address [email protected]

A) Food From Forests
Make
your report in the forest. During your walk in the forest make
observations and record them. Record the sounds, describe some
eatable species and take photos (Activity II).
B)
Young people and forests: A general interview
Find a student in your class or at your school who likes to go to
forest and to find eatable species there (flora, fauna or fungi).
You can ask these

Find a person who
is expert on this case. It could be a professor from the
university or a person who has a lot of knowledge nationally about
this topic. Prepare 4-5
questions for this interview. You could ask questions like

Hunting in the forests
Find
a student or older person who hunts in the forests. You can ask
these questions:

do you hunt it (shooting, traps etc.)
