Jack: What's your name, boy? Will: Will Turner. Jack: Will would be short for William I imagine, good strong name, no doubt the name for your father as well. Will: Yes. Jack: Well Mr. Turner, I tell you what. I've changed my mind. If you spring me from this cell, I swear on pain of death, I shall take you to the Black Pearl and your bonnie lass. Do we have an accord? (puts out his hand) Will: Agreed. (they shake hands)
Will: "We're gonna steal a ship. That ship?" Jack: "Commandeer. We're gonna commandeer that ship. Nautical term." (Jack turns to face Will) Jack: "One question about your business, boy. There's no use going. This girl.. How far are you willing to go to save her?" Will: "I'd die for her." Jack. "Oh, good. No worries then."
(Will and Jack travel to the Dauntless underwater using the small boat while walking under it) Will: "This is either madness or brilliance." Jack: "It's remarkable how often those two traits coincide."
(Jack and Will go down to the Dauntless' deck, Jack holding a gun while Will wields a sword) Jack: "Everyone stay calm! We are taking over the ship." Will: "Aye! A vast!" (The crew starts laughing while Jack looks over at Will strangely. Will raises his eyebrows, an innocent expression.)
Jack: Let it go, lad. It's not worth you getting beat again. Will: You didn't beat me. You ignored the rules of engagement. In a fair fight, I would kill you. Jack: That's hardly incentive for me to fight fair then, is it?
(Jack and Will at Tortuga. Jack sees girl) Jack: Scarlet! (She slaps him.) Jack: Im not sure I deserved that. (Sees another girl) Jack: Giselle! Giselle: Who was she? Jack: What? (She slaps him) Jack: I may have deserved that.
(Jack throws a bucket of water on a sleeping Mr. Gibbs) Mr. Gibbs: It's bad luck to wake a man when he's sleeping! Jack: Fortunately, I know how to counter it; the man who does the waking buys a drink for the other man, and he drinks it while listening to a proposition from the man who did the waking. (Will splashes Mr. Gibbs with a bucket of water) Mr. Gibbs: Blast it, I'm already awake! Will Turner: That was for the smell. (Mr. Gibbs thinks about, then tilts his head and shrugs) Jack: You, sailor! Mr. Gibbs: Cotton, sir. Jack: Mr. Cotton. Do you have the courage and fortitude to follow orders and stay true in the face of danger and almost certain death? (Pause) Jack: Mr. Cotton! Answer, me! Mr. Gibbs: He's a mute, sir. Poor devil had his tongue cut out, so he trained the parrot to talk for him. No one's yet figured how. Jack: Mr. Cotton's... parrot. Same question. Parrot: [squawk] Wind in the sails. Wind in the sails. Mr. Gibbs: Mostly, we figure, that means 'yes.'
Jack: "Anamaria." Ana: You stole my boat! Jack: Actually. *whap*"Borrowed! Borrowed without asking, and with every intention of returning it. |
