Governor Swann: I've been told it's the latest in fashion in London. Elizabeth: Well, women in London must have learned not to breathe.
Harbormaster: Hold up there! It's a shilling to tie up your boat and I'll need to know your name. Jack: What do you say to three shillings and we forget the name. Harbormaster: Welcome to Port Royal, Mr. Smith! (Harbormaster walks off and Jack steals his money bag)
Murtogg: This deck is off limits to civilians. Jack: Well, if I see one I will be sure to alert you.
Mullroy: You! Step away from there! Jack: But it's such a pretty boat - I mean ship.
Mullroy: "Whats your purpose in Port Royal , Mr. Smith?" Murtogg: "Yeah, and no lies." Jack: "Well, then, I confess, it is my intention to commandeer one of these ships, pick up a crew in Tortuga, raid, pillage, plunder and otherwise pilfer my weasely black guts out!"
Norrington: "You are without doubt the worst pirate I've ever heard of." Jack: "But you have heard of me."
Jack: Watch the goods love. Elizabeth: You are despicable! Jack: Sticks and stones love. I saved your life you saved mine, we're square.
Will: "You're the one they're hunting. The pirate." Jack: "You seem somewhat familiar. Have I threatened you before?" Will: "I make a point of avoiding familiarity with pirates." Jack: "Ah. Well, it would be a shame to put a black mark on your record. If you'll excuse me" (He moves to the door but Will grabs a sword, stopping him) Jack: "You think this wise, boy, crossing blades with a pirate?" Will: "You threatened Ms. Swann." Jack: "Only a little." |

(Jack and Will fight, jumping into the area where all the swords are hanging.) Jack: "Who makes all these?" Will: "I do! And I practice with them three hours a day!" Jack: "You need to find yourself a girl, mate!" (They continue fighting once more, until they block each others swords) Jack: "Or, perhaps the reason you practice three hours a day is that you already found one, and are otherwise incapable of wooing said strumpet. You're not a eunuch, are you?" (looks down) Will: "I practice three hours a day, so when I meet a pirate, I can kill it!"
Will: "You cheated." Jack: "...Pirate!"
(Jack lifts his pistol, pointing it at Will) Jack: "Move away!" Will: "No!" Jack: "Please move?!" Will: "No! I cannot just step aside and let you escape!" Jack: (cocks pistol) "This shot was not meant for you."
Grapple: Say goodbye! (A sign swings down and hits Grapple through a shop window.) Will: Goodbye.
Elizabeth: Capt. Barbossa, I am here to discuss the cessation of hostilities toward Port Royal. Barbossa: Those are a lot of big words. We're not but humble pirates. What do you want? Elizabeth: I want you to leave and never return. Barbossa: Well, I'm afraid I'm disinclined to acquiesce your request. That means no.
Inmate: The Black Pearl... I've heard stories about it...it's been preying on ships...it leaves no survivors Jack: No survivors? Then where do the stories come from, I wonder?
Barbossa: For to long have I been parched of thirst yet unable to quench it. Too long I've been starving to death and haven't died. I feel nothing. Not the wind on my face nor the spray of the sea. Nor the warmth of a woman's flesh. (steps into moonlight becoming a skeleton) You best start believing in ghost stories Miss Turner, you're in one!
Barbossa: First of all, Miss Turner, returning you to shore was never part of our agreement. Second, you are not a pirate, so the Pirate's Code does not apply. And third, the Pirate's Code is more of a set of what you'd call "guidelines" than actual rules. Welcome aboard the Black Pearl, Miss Turner
Jack: You not dealing with normal pirates. Cruel, demented, vicious pirates to be certain, but cruel, demented, vicious pirates who cannot be killed. |
