Music: | This is my favourite pastime and even during most busy and tense days of mine, I didn't leave this. I have liked listening to music since long but last year, I had this enthu to learn guitar and actually learnt some of it but currently, out of practice..:( You wanna start with guitar..??!!?? Well...if you ask me what music I like then its easy to answer..I like all kinda music..depends on the mood and the situation. It could be Rock, pop, teechno, trance, senti n mushy love songs, ghazals or even old Hindi movie songs...but the songs should be soothing and lyrics matter a lot to me (yes... I guess I am able to understand most of them now...lol) My Favourite Band is Def leppard but I love several others too, infact, many of the artists/bands like Air Supply (fundoo love somgs and lyrics are fantastic!!), Bryan Adams, Eagles, Aerosmith (for their noisy songs..lol), Metallica, Pink Floyd (Listen to the "mother" song..its touching), Madonna (shes got a cool voice), Deep Purple, Dire Straits, Ghalib by jagjit Singh, Mozart (symphonies), Kenny G. (fundoo jazz man!!) play for me!! As you ca figure out, Pop kinda gets boring after sometime which is why very few Pop artists figure in the above list but still occassionally Abba, Celine Dion, etc are good!!! Dramatics: | This is one thing I have doping I was 6 when my class teacher forced me to take part in a play where I acted as a squirrel..lol. From then on, I have regularly taken part in different plays in all kind of languages - Hindi, English and even Sanskrit (yes...heard of Shakuntalam!!). When I was in Birla Public School (class I to VII), I had done various roles...from that of an animal (thats just being natural..lol) ..to a Mayor of a city...to an old man...to a married woman (I was in a boy's hostel initially, so they used to pick up guys for girlie roles too)..to Miss France...to any extents your imagination runs to!! I have also started directing plays too since an age of 11. When I changed my initial school, the hobby kinda took a backseat but has rejuvenated again and I am happy I havent decayed much. |
Cars/Watches etc: | I am really passionate about these. I always dream of having a fundoo luxury car one day (ab yaar...sochney ke paise thodi na lagtey hain...and then...who knows!!!). Though my father already has a cool Honda I love but still, I would love to buy him some car which probably he hasnt even dreamt of. I generally like these kinda luxury items like watches, cars, perfumes, etc..etc. Though I don't have any of these (I mean...those luxury ones that leave your mouth open..!!) but would love to collect. "Dream of the stars; even if you fall, you will fall on the moon..." |
Creative Writing: | I love writing..be it poetry or essays or stories. Writing stories is a thing of the past now but poetry I do whenever I get time and these are generally about life and something pertaining to incidents and emotions in my life. hence, These are kinda private and help me express out whenever the words are less. I will try to put some of my poems soon on this page. Then come the Essays part which I am actually good at. I always used to write and got appreciated generally but I did not believe I actually wrote well. It was in 1994 when there was a festival organised in NOIDA and was called Noida mahotsav 17. It was to commemorate the 17th birthday of the city i live in. I was in class 9th then and one of my teachers forced me to take part in the Essay Writing Competition for the group with entries from Class IX to XII. Ofcourse I could never imagine I could write a 2500 word essay and moreover standing first in the competition with most of the people elder to me. Since then, I have enjoyed this more and more... |
Sleeping and DayDreaming: | This is one thing I always do and am tooooooo fond of it. I can sleep for as long as you want though I am generally a nocturnal creature but daytime sleep is as comfortable!! dreaming...as in sleeping is too cool but I dream a lot otherwise too about all kinds of weird things...future..philosophy..anything and everything!! |
Numismatism: | I didn't used to follow this too passionately but since the last year, it has gained impetus. |
Astrology & Horoscopes: | I really love reading all those horoscopes that come in the newspapers, janampatris, etc. Just for your info, I am Libran and according to Hindu mythology, Sinh. Why I do this is very simple...if the horoscope predicts something good...then I am happy the whole day anyways and if it predicts something bad, it feels good to have passed the day successfully and happily without any of the bad things it talked about. Waise...my janampatri says I have a good future...lol ;) |
