Friends is one thing I have always had in excess. You might attribute this to any of the factors, viz. my being an extrovert, my long stays in hostels, my notorieties, or, in some cases, people coming upto me with their treasure of friendship!! But anyhow, this has been one facet of my life which I always makes me smile...!! though I have lost and gained many friends and the wheel has turned full circle many a times.
Though I have lost contact with most of my childhood friends (from the boys hostel), i have met some of them here at IITD (or rather at Vidyamandir Classes where I took coaching for IITJEE). While in DPS Noida, I earned a lotta cool friends but stayed at a distance from the fairer sex..lol.. an idiosyncracy I still repent. ;) There were lotta cool friends like Anubhav (at BHU), Saurabh, Eklavya, Shishir (in NUS, Singapore), Rekhi, Anish (in IIT Kgp now), puneet (now in UK), Priyamvda...etc etc. and we did masti too but only with teachers and gals too..(I used to be a major irritant!!)..But then, there are some friends from the opposite sex too... ofcourse I talked to them freely only after an year at IIT but havent had much contact though.
It was after the school when I realised the importance of friends for a lifetime and lo and behold...I carried forward a lotta friends from my class XI and XII. These weren't the people who were in my school but instead the people whom I met while preparing for IIT and am still having cool times too...and I hope we shall always stay in touch...just to name a few...mukul (shareef ladka), abhijit (mukul se bhi zyada shareef!!), CP (a really big psycho guy), karkun (cartoon), ...etc..etc.
That's much for history...lets look at the present! There are a lotta new and fantastic people I have met in IIT..piyush, amar, shivam, amanpreet, sonal, karan (gillu girotra)..etc etc...to name a few. Apart from those mentioned above.. there is a fundoo group of wingmates (we call ourselves kelaboyz...and why so..you'll soon know)..and these are a bunch of people I am sure would never part ways!! Lotsa fights...lotsa fun..lotsa treats...lotsa everything...these are the people I have spent most time with..!! Lemme say something about all of them..
Can't miss out Rajat...who was my roommate for 2 years and is pretty intimate since we know each other for 6 years now... well...kya kahoon uske baare mein.. bechara thoda confused types hai... and ek baar got drunk and gave us a good time as it dawned upon him that he was an 'emperor' and tabse we call him ...'Raja't..
then...batti..gaurav batti.. well..he's the real kela!! I mean the name originated from him...as theres something weird that wherever, whenever, whatever he does...kisi ka kela ho jaata hai...(i mean...kuch gadbad ho jaati hai).. still a nice guy to be with..and to share the birthday with..!!! He's also a victim of my idiosyncrasies and govil's anger (who govil is..ull soon know..)
OK..if we are talking bout govil...to tell you his name - anshu govil, the elephantine nerd, credited with breaking more than 10 of batti's locks, future stock mkt whiz(with role model Harshad Mehta and the likes..) but a real fundoo guy!! Yes...ofcourse...if something is broken in your room, you can safely blame him...cos he's the one!!
then..lets take DC..bechara... dil ka mareez..lekin fundoo sportsman and cool compu guy.. CG se thoda oopar utha hua hai..!!!
vaibhav... again..max intelligent (he thinks so..aur hai bhi thoda sa.. poltu mein to especially..lol)..a cool sportsperson (be it basky or cricket).. has the distinction of having the only serious affair in IIT in the wing.. atleast aditi ne ise saaf rehna to sikha diya...warna first year mein, a rat smelled his room and ran away...by god ki kasam!!!
madhav...arbit banda...lol..but with a fundoo job in hand..and a cool athlete.. and more than average affinity to the girls' hostel... recently got an offer for marriage too (as his father informed him..lol)
can't forget the only mallu-cum-DASA member of our wing (ab kya kahoon..khud hi soch lo..mallu bhi...DASA bhi..!!)...kinda shares my knack of troubling gals ..and is fun to be with...
then is rajiv.. 'zinda laash' as we call him.. he has to really put in too much effort and concentration to gulp some water...even slimmer than me (guess!!!)..i mean he exists only in 2D.. a very good friend again and helped me a lot with his ideas and inputs in my research work too..:)
fir aata hai chuchu choudhary (name amit)... comes to the hostel every monday to go back to jaipur the next day.. relatively reserved but creative neverthless and gr8 scorpio overall!!
fir aaya...asthana..kisi zamaaney mein fraud ka betaaj badshaha hua karta tha and inspiration to others in the hostel but sadly..ab krishnan ke chakkar mein phans gaya hai..
tunna mobile..yaani ki ankur tyagi.. famous for his erratic (oops!!) hunk types body and tapori types voice when he say "kya hai be?" but a senti guy..
and finally...chikloo..jayant biswas...only chinky-cum-bong member of our wing... all ill say is he's different!!!
I have had great times with all of them staying together for 4 years in all joys and sorrows, freaking out, playing cricket in the wing, poltu times, trips to parantha shops n KLS, troubling the matkas...n everything.. Love u all.and I hope we will always remain together...and share the same spirit as we do today. If you wanna contact these people..mail at [email protected].
Haha...the list isn't over yet..!! There are some friends who can't be forgotten for all their love and help and cooperation.To extend the list of IIT friends...there are many, so I guess I won't name...but 3 names I can't afford to miss. One is my BTP partner Ankur, future IAS and maxo stud banda and times spent with him in IIT and europe have been memorable.We are having a great time doing a major fraud in our BTP. Then, to give you all a break.. here comes a girl..Divya..she's been a cool friend too, a nice and intel bandi but again a victim of my arbit idiosyncrasies but appreciably, still tolerates me (I give her enough oppurtunities for that..lol)!! Would never forget the wonderful treatment these 2 people gave us in Switz...!! Then is dhawan who also hails from NOIDA and we did our training together too and it was gr8 fun with him trying to patao gals and...etc..etc. Love you all too...and hope the friendship with all of these people grows forever!!
Coming out of IIT now..there are some really good friends too.. kanika (aka kanu), a really sweet and good friend now studying at UMKC, USA and her sis Neetika(neeti..or lets say Dr. Neetika Agrawal as she likes her to be called..and a very cool and sweet gal), doctor (though i won't bet on her...lol)...studying at Wichita State University..(I won't tell you what my mother thinks of these 2 people particularly the first one, or what their mother thinks of me...lol)
Another very good friend of mine is Garima, a perpetually smiling gal and a very good friend...:)
bas yaar..bahut ho gaya...ab baakion ke baare mein baad mein bataoonga..!!
Friends are like stars; even if you can't see them, you always know they are there..!!!
