Well...this section of my homepage would be as small as my family though I have lotta stuff to tell. The members in my family are: my father, mother, my smaller brother Praneet (aka Pintoo) and ofcourse, me (nicknamed Chintoo)!!!
My father (B.A., L.lB.) has a construction business i.e. he's a builder (well..i sympathise...you still might be confused what I am talking about). Just to make myself clearer and to tell you in simple terms, he buys land, builds factories and sells them, obviously. My mother is a simple housewife, a somewhat superstitious lady but neverthless modern enough in outlook (cos it seems she's been able to easily digest that I have a girlfriend..lol..though I haven't any as you know!!!) All credits to them for whatever I am today and whatever values they have inculcated in me and I love them.
Now, an interesting character, my brother Praneet who is naughtier than me, a cricket freak and is right now in the phase I have already crossed i.e. preparation for IITJEE. He is doing his class XI from the same school as me, Delhi Public School, NOIDA. And needless to say, I love him a lot too...
I guess I'll put up their pics soon in this section...so do come again.
Lemme tell you something about our history, too. When I was born, we used to live in Bulandshahr, a small district in UP as backward as it could be though I still like the place for all its filth and everything I got to see after my birth. We often used to hear:
"Shaharon mein shahar, Bulandshahar;
Nahaaney ko nadi, doobney ko nahar!!
My father used to have a pretty small business then which was enough for a comfortable living there but well, I dunno what came upon him that he thought my brain n talent would go waste in Nirmala Convent School, Bulandshahr that I changed my school to a residential one - Birla Public School, Pilani (Rajasthan) where again, i had some of the most memorable times and experiences of my life. Lotsa fun, masti and some studies too. But the most important, I learned how to live all alone. Though I left the school and the friends there in 1993, I have found many of them again now here in Delhi. :)
So, we shifted to Noida then and I joined Delhi Public School and stayed with my family for 5 years. This was also the brightest of times as there was a lotta support and motivation from the family and the time kinda evaporated in books and fun (ofcourse...that part is inseparable from me). Further since 1998, I am again staying at the hostel at IIT though my home is quite nearby, so, no problems!!!
This section would be incomplete without mention of some more people too who influenced my life greatly and sadly, aren't there now. :(
I spent the cool 5 years of my life with my grandfather too who was one of the most cheerful and happy-go-lucky personalities I have ever come across. He was the kind of person who liked hosting big parties and fun get-togethers at just any pretext as weird as me securing good marks in a class test...lol. I guess, he's my inspiration behind smiling always...whatever the case maybe and more importantly..to see others smile too!!!
Then, at the risk of sounding funny, I would say I am greatly inspired by my great-grandfather too...or rather...stories about him. A big Railways Officer in the British regime, he was one from the more intelligent or rather genius people of his times (information coutesy: my father). I am awed by stories about him never have got anything other than a full 100% in Sanskrit and Maths. A medal awarded to him in 1911 by Meerut University for being a topper in his graduation is still one of my most prized possessions.
Last but not the least, I cannot miss condolences for my mausi whom I had to part with 3 years back when her sons were barely my age then. She was too loving and I miss her...her laughter, her love and everything!!! (All thats left now are the presents she used to bring for me whenever she visited Singapore each year...)
I have had wonderful times with each and everyone else too and I hope all stays well for everyone in future too!! With love and wishes to all...
