“she’s in trouble!” Melissa shouted “I know she is!” “I know you’re worried, but calm down!” a man said trying to calm her down. “I know these two... Have you ever heard that thing about twins being telepathic? Well, if they’re not, they’re close! If she says Melanie’s in trouble, she is!” her grandmother said worried. “I’ll go and find her...” Melissa said tying another rope around her waist. “You’re sure?” the man asked. “Don’t worry... I’ll be fine” “Ok then... Be careful” She gave him a fake smile and began to descend the hill. “Melanie? Where are you?” she shouted. No answer. “MELANIE?” she shouted again. No answer. She went further the woods and spotted a whole on the ground. She looked down and saw Melanie and her grandfather lying uncontient. She went back and told what she saw to the fire men who had just arrived. They went back with her and managed to take them out and send them to the hospital. One there, Melissa phoned her parents and told them what was going on. Then, the doctor came in. “How bad is it?” Alice asked. “Your husband only had a concussion on his head and broke arm... but your granddaughter... she had a strong concussion on her head... she didn’t make it..."”he said “what? I don’t belive in you!” Melissa said crying hugging her grandmother who was crying too. “I’m so sorry...” the doctor said. “I’m gonna take her home now...ok? I’ll be back tomorrow, but please tell me if anything happens to my husband...” Alice said crying. “I sure will.” he said. Then Alice and Melissa got her things and went home. That night Melissa didn’t sleep anything, and neither did her grandmother. Suddenly, the door of her bedroom opens. It was her mom. “Melissa? Are you ok?” she asked. “Yes... Seems like you caught your flight in time” Melissa answered. “Yes... we did... Me and your dad are going to take your grandma to the hospital... want to come?” she asked. “No... can I stay in bed?” “Yes... you can...” she said with a fake smile. She got out and before she closed the door, she noticed her gone daughter’s teddy bear... tears came to her eyes and closed the door before Melissa could see them. After four weeks, Melissa and her parents went back to Ireland. Her father’s had to go to work the next week. He’s a song writer for famous music acts and was going to work with this new boyband that was supposed to be excelent and very talented. He didn’t want her to be alone and she couldn’t go with her mom to the hospital where she works, so he took her to the studio. She didn’t want to go, but as she was forced, she ended up going. As her dad drove through the busy streets of Dublin, Melissa looked to all the people around trying to go somewhere in a hurry, like the end of the world was near. She laughed. “Melanie was always late for something...”she thought. Without any notice, a tear fell from her eyes, a tear so perfect, so crystal, that seemed that you could see her sadness inside of it like a crystal ball. “She should be here... she should be late for something...” she thought angry, whipping the tear out of her face. “So... what do you think? Is there enough room in the world for another boyband?” her father asked with a fake smile, trying to break the silence. “I dunno...” Melissa answered still looking outside “Boybands are not my thing...” “They’re not your thing? Com’ on! I still remember when you’d be looked in your bedroom listening to Boyzone, OTT, Backstreet Boys... who knows who else!” Her father said laughing “ I know you and you DO like boybands...” “Mel was alive then... I hate boybands now...” Melissa said looking sadly at her hands. They didn’t said a word till they arrived to the studio. Everybody was very nice and no one mentioned Melanie’s death in front of Melissa. She went straight to the studio, where she sat down on a couch and took some magazines. Her gave her some cookies, while they waited for the band. Suddenly, the door opened. “Hi! Can we come in?” a blond guy asked with four other gorgeous guys. “Oh my gosh! This guys looks like Ronan Keating!...” Melanie thought. “Sure, com’on in!” Melissa’s father said “This is my daughter Melissa” “Hi!” the five boys said smiling. “Hi!” she said with her best smile she could get to be as nice as possible. “By the way...” another blond and tall gy said “We heard about your lost... we’re very sorry...” “thank you...” “Sorry... I’ll be right back” Melissa said in flash while she run outside, while the lads were confused. |
