-Can't Loose What You Never Had-

by: Annie

CHAPTER ONE

“Melissa and Jordan, sitting in a tree...”  Melanie teased.
“For Godsake!!!!! Melanie, GIMME A BREAK!!!” her twin sister shouted annoyed, and turned the stereo volume higher.
Both sisters were spending their vacations at a small town in Portugal, where their grandparents live. Their mother’s portuguese and the girls were born there too, but their father’s irish, so they moved to Ireland shortly after Melissa and Melanie were born.
As every twin, Melanie and Melissa always had a special bond with each other: they always knew what the other felt before she felt it; they always knew what the other was going to say before she said it. For this and more, was inedible for them to be each other best friend.
“Melissa and Jordan, sitting in a tree...” Melanie teased again, turning the volume down.
“Melanie! Jordan has to be the most arrogant , stupid BIG HEADED BOY I HAVE EVER MET!!!” Melissa shouted and lied down in the bed.
     “Yeah... right.... whatever...”
Melissa looked at her with a “don’t-mess-with-me” kind of look and throw a pillow straight at her face. Melanie laughed hysterically so as Melissa.
“I’m out of here!” Melanie gave in still laughing.
“Yeah! You should!!!” and throw another pillow at her which she throws back. After 20 seconds, the room was worse than a pigsty.
“What’s going on here?” And old woman voice asked.
The girls looked back to the door to see and old woman standing there smiling,
     “Grandma!” the girls shouted.
“Granddaughters!” she said with a fake “I-missed-you-so-much-but-get-out-of-my-sight” kind of look which made the girls laugh more hysteracly.
     “Dinner’s ready... You’ve got 5 minutes...”
“Okey dokey” Melanie said standing up.
“The last one is a bum!!!” Melissa while she stood up and started to run towards the kitchen.
“Oh no: you will!” Melanie run after her.
“Wow... slow down girls!” the old woman said smiling “there’s enough for everyone!”
The girls sat down and started to eat. After loads of complements about the food, the door opened and a woman came shouting: “Alice, your husband’s missing!”
“What? How? When?” she asked scared. Her husband’s an electrician and he was working in this old house up in the hills. Alice, the twins grandmother, was very scared when he stared working there but he needed to work so she hide her worries. But faced with her fears coming true, she couldn’t hide them anymore.
“Everybody’s looking for him, so come on!” the woman said, running outside, but this time with Alice and the girls.

CHAPTER 2

     “Miss Alice!” a man shouted.
“Mr. Adolfo... any news?” she asked crying “Do you know anything?”
“No... only that he’s probably down there...” he answered pointing to some woods at the end of the hill. It was a long fall.  “We need someone thin to go down there, but no one seems to be thin enough to go down through those bushes.”
“I’ll go!” Melanie said looking to the bushes “I’m thin enough and I know these hills”
“No... Melanie, you’re not going down there! You might get trapped or something and I wouldn’t be able to forgive myself if you’d got hurt!” Alice said trying her best to stay calm.
“It’s ok grandma! I’m used to walk on these woods so much! I know it so well like the palm of my hand! I’ll be ok!” she said hugging her grandmother carefully “I’ll be alright!”
“ok then.... but be careful!” Alice said with a fake smile.
“I’ll help you...” Melissa said tying a rope around her waist “Too tight?”
“It’s ok... thanks sis...” and she slowly and carefully went down the hill.
When she finally got to the ground she untied the rope and started to look for her grandfather.
“Where are you?” she thought. Suddenly, she falls in a cave: she looks around and see her grandfather unconcient.
“Grandfather!” she whispers, but he doesn’t wake up. She looks around and notices there’s no way out but the whole in the ceiling where she fell. “What am I going to do now? Melissa! I wish you were near!” she thought, scared and hurt.
