| Jimmy broke the national record in car racing |
| Jimmy was fantastic in yesterday's race!!! Although the regretful thing is that he didn't manage to clinch the top three position, he broke the national rec- ord for the fastest sin- gle lap. According to Hiromi, the webmaster of Jim- my Family, when the race started, Jimmy was at 4th position, but within the 1st lap, Jimmy manage to ov- ertake and maintain at 2nd. Until at the 15th lap, at a large bend, the racer in front of Ji- mmy wanted to rem- ove him as Jimmy was threatening his first postition, by trick- ing Jimmy with his fake turn. In order to prevent a collision, Jimmy imm- ediately applied his brakes but this caus- ed his car to swerve out of the track and got stuck. Thus, Jimmy was disqualified from the race and he was very disappointed. Many fans who went to cheer for Jimmy were angry with the racer in front of Jimmy for play- ing dirty, but actually, these dirty tactics are very common in com- petitive sports. Any- way, what they were saying is that Jimmy was too anxious at the start of the race where he was trying to get to the front, for if he had not minded being beh- ind at first, he could have caught up gradu- ally and won 2nd sm- oothly. | car race, Jimmy spec- ially took two days leave from his film- ings schedule. Together with Yu Li, they were invited to this grand ceremony as prize presenters. Jimmy wore a black suit and looked smart and formal. But what Jimmy looks forward most was the car race. During yesterday's ra- ce, Jimmy drove his BMW M3 and in the qualifying round, he achieved an excellent timing of 1min 03.919 in the single lap of 1.7km. He not only broke his own record but he also broke the national record. Jim- my said happily, "Dur- ing the race where I was 2nd, I was think- ing whether I could actually win the race this time but in the end, I was disqualfied and therefore wasn't able to achieve a good result. But I'm very happy to gain su- pport from male car- racing fans. In the past, those who come to me asking for auto- graphs are my female fans but today, there are many male fans who want my autogra- ph as well." This proves that Jim- my not only attracts female fans but he's also being admired by male fans for his skills as a professio- nal car racer. | He Judged The Tanks |
| On 16th, Jimmy was invited by Azoo palm aquarium to attend an aquarium desig- ning competition. Jimmy's appearance not only pull in a huge crowd but also increase the sales of the mini palm aquariums. He was also the judge for this designing competition where he will decide the 5 best aquarium designs. Other than being a judge, Jimmy also personally designed his own aquarium which later became the most sought after product. Everyone were hoping to get hold of the aquarium made by Jimmy and there were others who were willing to pay a high price for the fishtank. For a fair competition, lots were drawn and the aquarium was given |
| to one lucky winner. Right after this event, Jimmy would leave for China where he will particip- ate in a music performance and pro- motions and head for HK continue the filming. His busy schedule prove- ns Jimmy's uprising popularity. Jimmy said good-naturedly, "In the HK movie, the role I portrayed is a policeman which has to do a lot of stunts and action. It's very fulfilling to act this role and also made me feel heroic. The next movie may involve car racing. This way, I can display my driving skills." (18/12/2000) |
