Jimmy's A Schumi Fan
"Lu Xiao Feng" Jimmy Lin arrived
in Singapore on 18th despite his
tight schedule to promote his lat-
est music album.  Since  his dra-
ma serial LXF is now showing in
Singapore,  it  is no surprise  that
he  is  asked  to  talk   about   this
show.
The viewership of LXF is not up to
expectations  and  Jimmy felt that
this   may   be   because   viewers
can't  get  used  with the changes
they've made  in  this  period  dra-
ma.
He explained, "We wanted to ma-
ke a breakthrough  with  this  dra-
ma, so we have expected  the two
extreme responses.  Some  view-
ers  felt  that  my  costumes   look
more   Japanese   than   Chinese
and  may  not  be  able to adapt to
my short hair, while some felt that
this show has succeeded in  ma-
king  the  breakthrough  from   the
traditional  period  dramas."  Jim-
my felt that the response from Ta-
iwanese  viewers would be better
when  it  will  be shown in Taiwan
in the near future.
As the production of LXF has enc-
ountered   with   many  problems,
one of which is the  budget  prob-
lem. Jimmy said that the contract
he signed was agreed on  his  ti-
me  schedule.  "According  to  the
contract, I will  film  for  4  and  the
half months, but due to the  prod-
"As  I've  received  sponsorship from
Esso  who  set  up  for  me  an Esso
Jimmy  Racing   Team,   so   starting
from  next  year, I can be considered
as  a  full-time  car  racer. Every year,
there will be races scheduled for me
to take part."
About  safety,  Jimmy  said  that   the
racing circuits take safety precaution
very  seriously  so there's no need to
worry.
Since Jimmy is crazy about car  raci-
ng, does he have any F1 racing  ido-
ls? Definitely.
Upon  asking  this  question, Jimmy
immediately    became   like   a   fan,
talking  about the collections he has
at home.
"Yes.  Michael  Schumacher!  I  even
collected a lot of his collection items.
I have a limited edition watch, Schu-
macher's    protrait,   helmet,   model
cars,  jacket,  T-shirt, flag, organiser,
pencil, and even shower foam."
Talking about F1 racing,  Jimmy se-
ems  like he doesn't want to end his
conversation.    When   asked   what
he'll do if he gets to meet Schumac-
acher,   without  hesitation,  he  said,
"Ask  for  his  autograph  and  take a
photo  with  him!  That's  why   I   can
understand the feelings of a fan."

Jimmy Taking the Challenge of a Stuntman
Jimmy is now in HK filming his new movie. As he will be taking part in the car race on 3rd Dec, he is trying to complete the filming as fast as possible to make it back in time to prepare for the race. As a result, dark rings has encirled his tired eyes, but Jimmy said that as long as he can go back in time, no matter how tired, he won't mind.
This few days, he kept calling home to his brother despite the costly international calls, asking about how the modifications of his car was getting on, so as to ensure the best performance on that day.
Early next year, Jimmy will be involve in the filming of another HK movie where the he'll take the role of a car racer. Both parties are looking forward to the shootings and Jimmy added that he would not want to use stuntmen as he want to do the stunts himself. In the current movie, there was a dangerous scene where his character was suppose to "fly" across a long row of metal boxes and intially, the director wanted a stuntman to do this scene but Jimmy volunteered to do it himself. In this scene, if the timing is inaccurate, one would suffer from serious head injury. As Jimmy was doing the stunt, everyone held their breaths. Finally, the one daring challenge was a great success and the director was very delighted. There was loud applause and everyone were full of praises. Jimmy is indeed gifted in actions and sports too.
His love for sports was not affected even though he entered the entertainment circle. During his free time, he would asking all the crew members to go bowling with him. As HK is cramped with buildings, it's not easy to find a spacious area to exercise so he could only make do with bowling.
As the date of the race drew near, Jimmy became worried as he doesn't have time to pracise but he is confident that he would perform well. Upon knowing that Jimmy will be racing, his management company keeps reminding him to be very careful, fearing that if he hurt himself, how would he be able to perform in America this Christmas?
uction  problems,  the  filmings had to be delayed. In the
end,  after  we've  completed  the  first  20  episodes, my
contract  was  dued."  Though he was not able complete
the whole 40 episodes, Jimmy was still paid the agreed
full  sum  of  money. (That  is, he  filmed for 20 episodes
but  was  paid  the  amount  for   40   episodes.)   Jimmy
added that he would consider  cooperating  with  Media-
corps if they invite him again in future.
When  Jimmy  was  here  last  year, he disclosed that he
was paid HK80,000 for every epiode he filmed in LXF.
Now, his "price rate" has shot up to HK100,000.
"In future,  I would only film one serial a year and use the
rest of the time for the preparations of my music album."
Talking about his new album,  Jimmy denied neglecting
his  music.  "At  least  I  do  release an album every year.
Like  this  album,  'Go for a walk', I feel that this album is
more  relaxed  than  the previous one 'Scarecrow', giving
one  the  feeling  of  the  beach  and  the  sun."  He   also
added that other than working on his movies and music,
he  will  also spend more time on his  other  'work' -- car
racing. He said that his interest in car racing has gradu-
ally  became  his  career.  Next  year,  he'll  take  part in 8 races.
