| The Last Race of the Century |
| The car race which was held on the 31st Dec, two of Jimmy coll- egues, Chen Ming Zhen and Ji Qin went there to show their su- pport for Jimmy. About the race, only competitors with the perso- nal record timing of 1.07 min and below are invited to take part and Jimmy (record timing: 1.03min) is among the 30 odd competitors which also include drivers from other countries. For the first ten laps, Jimmy (car no. 8) was in 3rd position and was trying hard to guard his po- sition against the opponent clo- se behind him who showed si- gns of overtaking. |
| However, at the 9th lap, his oppo- nent (car no. 18) was overtaken by another car and Jimmy was next at the 10th lap, resulting to Jimmy being 4th. At the 13th lap, the car in 1st position lost control and had to withdraw from the ra- ce and the car leading now is the one who overtook Jimmy at the 10th lap. Now Jimmy is back at 3rd. As usual, Jimmy is still gua- rding against No.18 but he is unable to overtake the car in front and his timing with the 2nd posi- ion is now apart by 9 sec. At the 22nd lap, Jimmy skidded at a bend and lost his 3rd position to no. 18. Although Jimmy lost his 3rd position, he is very calm and his performance is commendab- le. His driving skills has matured and his speed also is very fast. In the final result, Jimmy was 4th in this last race of the century. (7/1/2001) |

| On the 13th and 14th, Jimmy is invited by an American Chi- nese commercial exhibition as a performing guest for an evening function. This is a ch- arity function which serves to raise funds for rebuilding sch- ools damaged by the 921 ear- thquake in Taiwan. He hopes to do more for the society and is glad to be able to help the- se ill-fated students to return back to school. Moreover, on the 16th, Jimmy will head for Eastwest Bank where a ceremony for the anti-drug campaign will be held. There, Jimmy will lead a group of people to take an oa- th against drugs for life. It will be done in English and his management company has specially prepared an English speech for him. Thus these few days, Jimmy is memorisi- ng it like crazy! The organisers felt that Jimm- y's clean-cut image is very su- itable for this and in March, he will head for America aga- in to shoot an advertisement |
| for this campaign which will be broadcasted on Californ- ian's major Chinese TV cha- nnels. Jimmy felt very hono- ured to be able to become the California 2001 anti-drug campaign's spokesperson. To be able to be complete of this meaningful event before the Chinese New Year, he says it will be the most unfo- rgettable memory through- out his entertaining career. Also, Jimmy has just return- ed back from China after shooting a sport shoes co- mmercial. Other than be pa- id a 7 digit amount, the shoe company has also generou- sly offered him a HK$200,00 0 red packet. Jimmy genero- usly said,"So as to show my appreciation to the workers for their hard work througho- ut the year, I will treat them to Phuket to celebrate the new year." (8/1/2001) |
