| Jimmy: Blacky Looking Forward Son To Follow His Teachings |
| Jimmy said that 2 weeks ag- o, he had just met Blacky Ko Shou Liang in Macau. At that time, he brought his younge- st son, Ke You Xian to watch car racing. As his son has a great interest in car racing, Blacky even asked him whe- re can he send his son to le- arn car racing, and in their c- onversation, he is filled with expectations that his son ca- n continue his footsteps. As Jimmy was injured during his filming stint, he returned back to Taiwan to receive m- edical treatment. Yesterday, with the company of his fath- er, just after seeing a doctor, he received the distressing news of Blacky's sudden de- ath through the radio broadc- ast and he totally didn't dare believe what he had heard. Jimmy said that both Blacky and him love cars. Other tha- n cooperating with him in the movie 'Chivalrous Legend' 4 years ago, where Blacky act- ed as his master and worke- d together for 3 months. The- se few years, he met Blacky in the racing circuits. |

Blacky told Jimmy that he is planni- ng to let his son train to be a car racer and chatted about their thoughts of racing. Bla- cky even told him that his so- n had participated in small scale races abroad and ach- ieved good results, asking for advice at where can he s- end his son if he wants to tr- ain further. Jimmy had also suggested to him a few info- rmations of trainings from a- broad. Little did he thought at while Blacky's words were still so fresh in his mind, yesterday came the news of his death. This made Jimmy deeply sa- ddened, as both of them sh- are the same interest in car- s. | Jimmy Tried Acupuncture For The First Time |
| Lately, due to an injury incurred duri- ng the filming of the serial 'SJQXLS- B', so as to prevent post-effects in the long run, Jimmy immediately to- ok leave to return to Taiwan for me- dical treatment. He tried acupunctu- re for the first time, but he still tried to be happy amidst adverse circum- stances, making his new year wish in advance, hoping to be able to film a car commercial. During the filming of the serial, due to an accident occurred when he w- as hung in midair by the wires, it ca- used a fracture in his vertebra. But Jimmy was afraid of delaying the pr- ogress, tolerated the pain and conti- nued to work. However, his Taiwan- ese agent, Xia Yu Shun felt that this is not a small matter, is worried that it will leave Jimmy with post-effects of the injury, and kept trying to requ- est from the production to allow Ji- mmy to return to Taiwan for treatme- nt. Initially, the production was worri- ed of the progress and rejected the request, but later, it's still the main importance to consider Jimmy's he- alth condition and finally release him. To let Jimmy get the best treatment, Xia Yu Shun who's like a father to Ji- mmy, brought him to all the major h- ospitals in Taiwan, making use of both Chinese and Western medici- ne. After an X-ray, the doctor pointed out that Jimmy needs to take more rest, allowing the muscles to gradu- ally join the affected bones together, otherwise, Jimmy may suffer rheu- |
| matism in future. But after consultin g Western medicine, Xia Yu Shun also brought Jimmy to receive acu- puncture treatment. As Jimmy had never tried acupunct- ure before, he was afraid at the sta- rt to see needles piercing onto him one by one and didn't dare to move an inch, feeling very nervous. Gradually later, he began to relax to receive the treatment. Fortunately, after the acupuncture treatment, Ji- mmy's condition improved a lot. Jimmy's popularity in China is risin- g and receiving never ending film invitations. Currently, 8 movies and 6 serials are at his doorstep. His a- gent, Xia Yu Shun and manager, He Ya Xuan are not only busy carefully looking into the script, at the same time, they're also arranging for Jim- my to be the spokesperson for a celebrity voicemail advertisement in China, and the fees is estimated to be a few millions. | Jimmy Return To Taiwan For Treatment |
| Jimmy discreetly return to Taiwan recently, and these f- ew days, he went to see an acupuncturist in Chung Hsi- ao East Road everyday so a- s to treat his injury. Xia Yu S- hun expressed that Jimmy h- as to treat his injury fast, as next year, he'll have six mov- ies, 1 serial and many races to take part, so he must heal his injury. | Jimmy And Neighbour's Dispute Brought Up To The Police |
| This year had not been a smooth- sailing year for Jimmy. Recently he had fractured his vertebra near his waist during the filming process in China. Lately due to placing some tyres on his parking lot of his perso- nal office, it created a dispute with a neighbour and the case was broug- ht to the police. Jimmy's father, Mr Lin De Xiong said, "The neighbour on the 2nd level was unreasonable and actually placed junk at the door- step of the parking lot. Eventually, it was settled after calling the police in." Other than filming, Jimmy and his elder brother, Lin Chih-Chieh start- ed 'Jimmy Creative', located in an a- lley near the police station. The co- mpany is responsible in designing internet software. Having a busine- ss mind, Jimmy said, "The softwar- es designed includes software for aiming accuracy for shooting, etc a- nd our potential business partners include the military field, banks. In Taiwan, only us are working toward- s this area. Hope that within the co- ming 10 years, the company can be stablised, and also hope that the business can expand into China." But as the company is gradually on the way of stablising, due to the pro- blem of placing tyres in the parking lot, it has created some unhappine- ss between the neighbour above a- nd Jimmy's office. Mr Lin said, "Inita- lly when we rented the place, the la- ndlord has paid for 2 parking lots. |
| Jimmy put his racing tyres on his parking space and the neighbour a- bove was against it, saying that it would breed mosquitoes and wan- ted us to move them away. We told them that the tyres doesn't have any water accumulated and there's a te- nt sheltering the parking lot. If they were still worried, we will spray ins- ecticide on the tyres to prevent the breeding of the mosquitoes." As Mr Lin relates, the angrier he be- came, "In the end, they said that sp- raying insecticide would poison the neighbours above, and eventually, they actually threw their junk and ru- bbish in front of our parking space. My eldest son couldn't tolerate it a- nd his words were more sarcastic, thus he had some clashes of wor- ds with them, while Jimmy is milder in temperament. In the end, it was brought up to the police station and ask the police to help us solve it. Jimmy said helplessly, "Actually the main problem was that the neighb- our above wanted to fight for the rig- hts of using the alley meant for the fire brigade. Actually before renting the place, the landlord has turn it in- to a parking lot, and it's the same c- ase nearby. | Yesterday, Jimmy presented a gift to his agent, Xia Yu Shun for his birthday. The Jin Yong swordfighting serial TLBB wh- ich Jimmy starred in is broadcasted in China and is the hot- test craze there now. CTV urgently announced that it will be broadcast in Taiwan on 5th January in the popular 8pm slot and hope that Jimmy would help in the promotion. Xia Yu S- hun also expressed that Jimmy's status has rised to NT$320,000 per episode, and still continue to rise. Master of 'Xia Family' Xia Yu Shun celebrated his 55th birth- day yesterday, and he had been in this line for 38 years. He wish that he will work for another 22 years, working a full 60 years, till then he would retire and have a trip round the wor- ld. Aces of 'Xia Family, Hsiao Chiang and Jimmy, are also t- he top money-earners this year, with their total earnings hit- ting a billion. Jimmy gain his popularity with his protrayal in TLBB airing i- n China recently, and commercials and events invitations b- egin coming his way. One advertisement offers as high as NT$8,000,000. This month, Jimmy has accepted 4 advertis- ments and his earnings has gone beyond 50,000,000 and went ahead of Ma Jingtao, being the top male earner in Xia Family. | Jimmy Would Be Giving Audience A Surprise In TLBB |
| Even though the number of charact- ers in the serial TLBB come up to h- undreds, but every main characters- -Jimmy as Duan Yu, Liu Yi Fei as Wang Yu Yan, Liu Tao as Ah Zhu, Chen Hao as Ah Zi and Murong Fu, Ye Er Niang, Madam Ma, etc, are all able to give the audience a new fee- ling. Especially worth mentioning is Jimmy's protrayal as Duan Yu. Eariler on, many seemed unimpre- ssed of giving the role to him, but he has shone a great breakthrough in his acting and protrayal, and can be said that this serial gives everyone a big surprise. In the serial, Duan Yu can be said to be a lively character. A rich young master but having a kind and righte- ous heart. Poor in martial skills but everytime facing lucky encounters. Lively but naive. And towards Jimm- y, everyone's impression of him on- screen often stops at Xiao Yuer's impish and silly expressions. Thus when TLBB decided on Jimmy to ta- ke the role of Duan Yu, followed alo- ng were debates against it. But yes- terday, seeing the film on TV, no m- atter from Jimmy's eyes or expressi- on, he has definitely put himself into the role, and really performing a ch- aracter. Although it's still too soon to say that he has excelled in his actin- g, the shadows of Xiao Yuer is no l- onger found. This is definitely the greatest breakthrough for Jimmy. | Jimmy Hopes To Be A Cop Hero |
| When meeting Jimmy, he was at 'Q- ing Ming Shang He Tu' filming 'SJQ- XLSB'. This time, this pop idol who win his fame with his youthful good looks is now acting as the talented Liu Yong. During the break in betw- een filming, I (reporter) chatted with him. Do not be tricked by Jimmy onscre- en that he can quote poetry anytime. Behind the scene, he has put in a lot of effort. About the phrases, he h- as to memorise phrases by phras- es, recite them repeatedly. After mu- ch hard work, he managed to recite 'Yu Lin Ling', but when in front of the camera, he stoned half the time. Th- anks to his co-acting partners� rem- inding, he didn't embarrass himself in front of the camera. He even clai- med that he unknowingly fell asleep while he was memorising the vers- es. Turning 30, Jimmy naturally talked about the issue of changing style." Now, I feel that when changing sty- le, it should not be done deliberate- ly. At certain age, you should act or portray an image as suitable for that age. At the time when I was just rel- eased from the army, I was in a hur- ry to change my style, wanting to let everyone know the changes in me. That time, I sang a few 'manly' son- gs. Looking back, I feel I was too ra- sh. At every age, there will be certain thoughts and ideas. Maturity comes naturally and not given off by how y- ou're being packaged. These few years, I have experience- d many things, racing, singing, acti- ng, etc. Before the new year, this ne- w serial should be completed. After that would be some matters on the area of racing and following after w- ill be filming new shows. Regarding next year's arrangement, Jimmy said that currently, he decid- ed to accept three movies. First is '7 Wolves'. He said this was a hit mov- ie in Taiwan 10 years ago. Dave W- ang ever starred in it. This time, it is a reshoot, but he is filled with confi- dence. Second is temporary being known as 'Xiao Yuan Feng Shen B- ang'. It is an idol movie and he will act as a teacher. Third is a period movie. When I asked Jimmy what sort of role he hopes to play in, he thought for a while and said, "I hope to act a- s a cop hero, uphold justice, a posi- tive character. Because this is clos- ely related to my personality, abilitie- s and ever being a soldier. Moreover, I am quite interested in fi- rearms. He said, "Currently, I'm still looking at the script of this area, if I'm interested, I would accept this r- ole." He said that next year, he'll su- rely release an album. | Jimmy has a way to keep hi- mself against cold. Others n- ever leave without woollen c- lothings and warm packs, b- ut Jimmy is totally different fr- om the rest. He experiment- ed his own anti-cold method, 'cellopane film'. Talking abo- ut using cellopane film anti- cold method, it's really very effective. Although it's only a thin film, even if it's the pierc- ing icy wind, it may not be s- aid to really keep him warm but it has no problem again- st the cold. Some time ago, Jimmy had went to China to film mainla- nd's 'TLBB'. Under the thin costumes, the 'Duan Yu' he portrays has to have the gall- ant airs and he could not ad- d more layers of clothings b- eneath. Thus, he had a sud- den idea and went to a rest- aurant's kitchem, bringing b- ack a whole roll of cellopane film to his room. Before film- ing, first on his legs, arms a- s well as his chest and wai- st, he wrapped himself und- er a thick layers of plastic. A- nd it seems very effective. W- hen the other cast were turn- ing pale and freezing, Jimmy did not seem to show and f- eeling of coldness, in fact, h- e even complained of feeling hot. But there's some inconveni- ence in using the cellopane film method, as the plastic being wrapped on the body, when it experienced friction during movements, there will be weird noises evolved. | A Taiwanese and a Chinese, is there possibilities of getti- ng along peacefully and buil- d a good friendship? The an- swer is definitely. Jimmy and Hu Jun became good friend- s after filming together in CT- V primetime serial 'TLBB', a- nd in private, they would ofte- n meet up for a few drinks. One is warm and gentle, one is magnanimous and valian- t. Jimmy, born and brought up in Taiwan and Hu Jun fro- m China. Their personalities are at 2 extreme ends, but in private, they are able to bec- ome good friends. During th- e period of filming 'TLBB', b- oth of them got along very w- ell. After work, both of them often meet up for a drink. Although having different pe- rsonalities, both of them chat easily. In 'TLBB', Jimmy's character as 'Duan Yu' is an easygoin- g but faithful guy under the p- en of Jin Yong, while Qian F- |
| eng is a man full of heroic airs. This role definitely belongs to Hu Jun. In the serial, Duan Yu, Qiao Feng and Hsu Zhu are 3 sworn brothers. Sta- nding in between Hu Jun and Gao Hu who starred as Hsu Zhu, there ever were people who criticised that Jimmy do not have enough heroic airs, unable to act well in this role. Good friend, Hu Jun stand out and speak in his defence. He said that Jimmy is very hardworking, his han- dling of the role and his understan- ding of the character are very succe- ssful. As can be seen that their frie- ndship is very strong. Although in appearance, 29 year old Jimmy looks like a boy who won't g- row old, when portraying the role of Duan Yu, he expressed confidently, "I can act him well!" Early Decembe- r, this serial has begin airing in Chi- na and the viewership is commend- able. The audience have also reco- gnised Jimmy for his performance. On 6th January, this serial will be ai- ring in Taiwan. By that time, Jimmy would return to promote the serial, but Hu Jun would only be able to m- ake it here on 15th as he was not a- ble to settle his documents in time. | For TLBB, Jimmy Almost Got Stranded At Top Of Snow Mountain |
| CTV's primetime 8pm slot ser- ial "TLBB" would be airing early January. Jimmy who starred as 'Duan Yu' in the serial express- ed that in order to portray this character which many had act- ed before, the pressure on him was very great. Fortunately, as the martial skills that 'Duan Yu' uses like 'Ling Bo Wei Bu', '6 Mai Shen Jian', uses the com- puter effects, Jimmy did not ha- ve many action scenes. He ev- en said laughingly, "This serial is the most relaxing period se- rial I had ever filmed." 'TLBB' fi- lming locations move from no- rth to south. From Beijing to Z- hejiang and finally to Yunnan, this made Jimmy, who doesn't have free time to explore China |

But when the filmset moved to D- ali, Yunnan, Jimmy took some ti- me off to explore Yu Long Snow Mountain, and climbed to the tip which is more than 4000km abo- ve sea level. While Jimmy was enjoying the mountain scenery, he was very excited, and even st- arted a game of war with snowb- alls, but following on, he begin to feel unwell. The thin air at the m- ountain top caused him to have difficulties in breathing after a w- hile of vigorous exercises. He al- most turned breathless that he quickly remove his playful mood and leave.
