parts of Shoemaker & Macungie Elementary.
The MOMS Club of Lower Macungie - East / Emmaus, PA became the MOMS Club of Macungie-East, when the MOMS Club of Emmaus sistered off our chapter in July, 2005. The East Club is excited to continue expanding and serving the great MOMS in the area.
The MOMS Club of Macungie, PA became the MOMS Club of Macungie-East, when the MOMS Club of Macungie-West sistered off our chapter in January, 2004. In May 2004, all of Emmaus (zip code 18049) was included in the boundary, some members transferring from the West. We are looking forward to more successful years as a MOMS Club.
Our membership is extremely active, participating in playgroups, activities, park days, etc. We also have a successful babysitting co-op (which will continue in the new Lower Macungie-East/Emmaus group). The opportunity to start new activity/interest groups is always available as we endeavor to meet the needs of all of our members.
MOMS Club of Macungie, PA
The MOMS Club of Macungie, PA held its first meeting in June of 2000. Our chapter sistered off of the Trexlertown chapter. Within a year, the chapter grew to almost 40 members. In our first year we were able to complete numerous service projects, including a yard sale which raised $1000 for a local charity. We welcomed new babies and forged lasting friendships. Our second and third years proved to be just as successful as our first with two more yard sales and other successful projects. We split our chapter into two groups so that we better support more stay-at-home moms in the East Penn School district.
The International MOMS Club
The MOMS Club was started in 1983. The first local chapter wa in Simi Valley, CA. Word spread about the wonderful support that the MOMS Club was offers at-home mothers and we became a national organization in 1985. There are now over 2000 local chapters with 100,000+ members across the country...and more chapters starting every month!
-That women must be free to chooose their personal path to fulfillment
-That, for women who choose it, raising children is an important and fulfilling full-time job
-That a family's decision for a mother to stay at home to raise the children often involves considerable financial sacrifice
-That there is no one right way to raise children, but that a major reason for the members to get together is to seek out mothers with the same common concerns for raising their children in the best, most healthful way
-That children are the community's greatest resource, and that a community's concern for its children is marked by the quality of its schools
-To provide a support group for mothers who choose to stay home with their children
-To provide a forum for topics pertinent to children, child raising, homemaking, personal improvement, and family issues
-To engage in activities to enrich the lives of children in the community
-To undertake and complete at least one charitable humanitarian or social welfare project related to children each year
