The club runs courses which is are time flexible courses. The first will be Open Water (beginners course), Advanced Course and Rescue courses are run on demand so contact me on [email protected]

NEWS FLASH-- if you want to learn to dive NOW then Contact Dive Centre on 9977 4355, they are at 10 Belgrave St Manly, very close to the ferry wharf. They will do a PADI Open Water Course for $395 not their normal price of $445. They are very professional and they give you a really good textbook/student package. Remember you MUST tell them that you are from the uni or they will try to charge you the full price!

*** Generally the Open Water courses will be run on demand. Just contact me if you want to do a course. Generally small groups of up to 3 people will be taught. This is a very flexible structure where we work out which is the most convenient days for everybody, contact us for details and to place a deposit to secure your place on a course! A current dive medical is required to do courses in Australia there are doctors who specialise in this and charge about $70-$110, please allow a few hours to travel to these as there are none around the uni.

The courses offered are all PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) Courses. All of these courses require a medical less than 12 months old completed by a doctor on a PADI medical form. These forms are obtainable from the Club.

      MORE DETAILS ABOUT DIVE COURSES OFFERED:-
    • Open Water or the beginners course - This takes about 3 or 4 days to complete. You get either CD-ROMS or a text and a video from which you do some homework and complete questions at the end of 5 chapters. You then review these questions with a diving instructor. There are then some multiple choice quizzes. The next session is in a pool or pool like conditions, where you do a 200 metre swim, a 10 minute tread water/or float with your face out of the water. You are then taught the water skills. The remaining days are spent going over these skills. Cost of this course, including use of equipment, air fills etc is $350. After completing this course you will have the entry level skills to be able to dive to 18 metres with a buddy. This level of certification is recognised internationally and valid for the rest of your life.

    • Advanced Open Water Course - This course builds on the Open Water course and teaches you addittional skills under the supervision of an instructor. The dives you will do are Deep dive, Night dive, Search and Recovery, Navigation dive and Peak Performance Buoyancy. The cost for this course is $345.

    • Rescue Diver Course - Email the club for details. The course cost is $350. First aid courses are currently not offered.

    • Divemaster - Email the club for details.
