to White Hall
White Hall houses all seven of the departments for the School of Business and Social Sciences. It also houses the History department of the School of Arts and Humanities, as well as classes for several departments from the two other university schools. White hall also houses the institute of economic excellence. Along with classrooms the building is equiped with multiple computer labs along with numerous faculty offices.
| The Institute for Economic Excellence
The Institute for Economic Excellence serves the community of Shepherd University to assist in educating the students, to aid in creating jobs and wealth, to help deepen the academic experience of the faculty, to work with the business community, and to contribute to a higher quality of life for the people of the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. The Institute will pursue activities focused on diversifying the Region’s economy by engaging and leveraging the resources of the University in partnership with public and private bodies and organizations of the region. The Institute will be both a symbolic and organizational nexus for developing the technology and people necessary for new economy enterprises to flourish in the Eastern Panhandle region. The Institute will engage the teaching, research, and technology expertise of the University in partnership with regional and local entities as a means to that end. |
