Institute for Economic Excellence

Strategies of the Institute

The Institute’s role in the Eastern Panhandle economic transformation revolves around six strategies that support the mission of the Institute:

1. To aid in the development of human infrastructure;

2. To aid in the deployment of an advanced technology infrastructure – deploy next generation information technology infrastructure to leapfrog to a position of competitive advantage;

3. To help develop research activities in support of economic development – expand high-waged employment opportunities by attracting new network-based economy companies, growing new startups, expanding the current companies, or attracting telecommuters.

4. To enhance community development including the quality of life and other features that appeal to the full spectrum of new economy professionals, residents, and visitors;

5. To provide leadership and coordination for the articulation of the vision and mission for the Institute throughout the region; and,

6. To establish strategic partnerships by bringing together a spectrum of human resources and to use the Institute as an access point for these resources.
