    Angel
    Waiting In The Wings
Though it wasn't exactly what Gunn wanted when Angel went off to get tickets, Angel returns with ballet tickets. A famous group of performers he saw many years ago have come to Los Angeles, and so Angel has bought them all tickets to go and see it.

The crew start going about fighting outfits for their evening out, with all the guys renting a tux, and the ladies looking for just the right dress. Whilst they look, Cordelia and Fred discuss her love life, but whilst Cordelia is talking about Wesley, Fred means Gunn.

    Fred

A similar thing is happening to Angel. As he sings to Connor, Lorn reads him, and knows for sure that Angel has feelings for Cordelia, only he doesn't know it. With all these feelings floating around, the group head for the ballet where they will have the "performance of a lifetime".

The first part of the ballet goes well, with Gunn developing a whole new interest, though Cordelia falls asleep, clearly not getting into this kind of thing. Angel however is confused. This performance, these people, are exactly the same as they were in 1890.

Angel and Cordelia go to investigate backstage, but are caught in a kind of time flux. They relive the past love affair of one of the performers with another man, making the director of the group insanely jealous. Being a wizard, the man's jealousy was taken out on her by freezing her in time to repeat the performance over and over.

After this steamy encounter, Gunn, Welsey and Fred catch up with them, but now they are not alone. Some drone-like beings come after them with swords, and Gunn is wounded. It is here that things really get going between Gunn and Fred, leaving Wesley to regret not moving sooner. To defeat the wizard though, they need to keep the drones occupied, distracting the wizard enough for Angel to get to him.

Angel destroys the wizard's power, and sets the girl free, ending her performance. The crowd applaud, and this performance is over for the last time. The crew head back to the hotel, but are in for a surprise. Just as Angel is about to tell Cordelia more about his feelings, the Groosalugg arrives.
