Cordelia orders Angel, Wesley, Gunn and Lorn to have their heads cut off, but stops them just before they do. She is really enjoying her new leadership role. Angel makes another discovery, that he also reflects in this world, something he enjoys, despite not being happy with his hair.
Cordelia tells them of the prophecy of the one with the visions who will arrive as some kind of Messiah, and that these people think she is the one.

Now free, Lorn takes Angel to meet his family, a reunion Lorn doesn't want to have. His mother is clearly unhappy, but things are saved when Landock arrives and calls Angel a hero after slaying the Drakan. Meanwhile, Wesley investigates the prophecy, reading the books in the royal palace. He finds a set of three books that work together, each with an animal on the front, forming Wolf, Ram and Hart. Coincidence?
They find that Cordelia is expected to mate with the Groosalugg, something Cordelia is less than happy about, so they decide to leave. Wesley and Gunn escape, but Cordelia is stopped. Angel, the hero, is asked to perform a special ritual, a great honour, but he is asked to kill a girl. He refuses, and runs away with her into the hills. Once there, Angel has to fight off pursuers, and goes vamp... completely.
It seems that on this world, his vampire self is completely surpressed most of the time, but when it does appear, it does so completely as well, so Angel is the demon inside him, in its purist form. He runs away from Fred, and attacks Wesley and Gunn. Fortunately Fred tempts him away with blood, and somehow calms him down back at her cave.
Back at the palace, the Groosalugg arrives, and Cordelia really likes him (after all, he seems human which she wasn't expecting). Together, the two begin to make proclomations, trying to make the world a better place, but the priests become unhappy, and put her firmly in her place. They tell her who is really in charge, them, and execute Lorn.
As the episode ends, Gunn and Wesley are captured by a group of rebel cows, Angel is recovering in Fred's cave after his vampire experience, and Cordelia is staring in horror at the detached head of her friend the Host.
