The episode begins with Wesley at the police station, being held for questioning, and accused of one murder already, with another person critically injured. He begins to tell the story of what went wrong, and why Angel shouldn't have been there. Gunn's cousing had accepted a driving job, but had got too scared to handle it. He asks Gunn to take over, but Gunn brings Angel along. When Angel finds out that a vampire from Las Vegas called Jay-Don is taking part, he decides to go alone, leaving Gunn behind.

Gunn of course, doesn't listen, so Gunn goes as his cousin Lester, whilst Angel takes out Jay-Don and goes as the Vegas Vampire. When they arrive, they meet two fierce demons Menlo and Vyasa, along with a crooked security guard. They are planning to take a precious artifact from a museum, the Shroud of Rahmon.

With each member playing their part, the guard for the codes, Gunn as the wheelman, Angel to get past the heat detection, and the two demons there as the well-equipped, well-motivated bank robbers, the heist goes ahead, and they make off with the shroud. However, the casing is dropped as the group argue, and the Shroud is allowed to unleash its magic, turning everyone against eachother.

With Menlo getting extra paranoid, the guard killed by Vyasa, Gunn ready to stake Angel, and Angel ready to turn, things don't look good, which is why its unlucky for Kate that she decides to intervene. Angel bites her, drinks, and lets her drop to the floor. Before they make their escape though, Menlo shoots Vyasa, after Vyasa nearly kills Menlo, taking the two of them out, leaving Angel to take the Shroud from Gunn and set it on fire.

With the Shroud extinguished, Gunn and Angel recover and escape. Wesley however, has caught up and found Kate, which is why he is in for questioning. However, Kate comes to the interview room ordering them to let Wesley go. It turns out Angel had instructed her to stay down, and had not drunk enough to kill Kate, in fact saving her life from Vyasa. However, Angel has now drunk human blood once more.
