Tension is growing within the hotel. Wesley is becoming more and more secluded as he confronts the prophecies alone, whilst also dealing with Gunn and Fred with their new found love. Angel meanwhile is surprisingly happy, and apparently full of energy.
Lorn discovers a new client for Angel, a young girl who turns into a demon as her song approaches its finish. Wesley discovers that it is an infection only, spread from Wraith demons she must have seen. They are her band members.

Angel, Gunn and Fred go after the demons, but before Fred or Gunn can really do anything, Angel leaps in, full vampire strength in action, and rips apart each of the demons. When they return to the hotel, Angel drinks some more blood, and then starts getting angry. Angry at Connor, angry at Gunn, angry at everything. He smashes the glass, with blood in it, against a wall.
They realise something is wrong with the blood, and Angel soon works it out. Somebody, most likely Wolfram and Hart, have spiked his food with his own sons blood, making Connor seem like food to Angel. This is what the prophecy means by "devouring the child", but Wesley doesn't know this.
Angel goes to Lilah, trying to find out why she would use his son this way. He finds her in league with Sahjhan, a demon with a grudge against him, but Angel doesn't even recognise the being. Meanwhile Wesley visits Holtz again, and this time, makes a decision. He returns to the hotel to get the child. A quick song to calm Connor though alerts Lorn to what he is doing, but Wesley attacks the Host, knocking him out.
After hiding Lorn, Wesley is able to escape, despite Angel, Gunn and Fred returning home. As soon as the baby is out of the hotel, Holtz attacks with a few less well-trained henchman, and delays Angel from realising what has happened. When Angel does find out though, he races after Connoer.
Three major things happen. Wesley is caught by Justine, and his throat slit. She takes Connor to Holtz. Angel, and then Wolfram and Hart, catch up with Holtz, and come to a standoff. Finally, Sarjhon arrives, and opens a rift between this dimension, and the worst of the hell dimensions. Holtz goes through, taking Connor with him, leaving Angel to suffer the loss of his child.
