Cordelia is throwing a party, but Angel and Wesley are completely out of place. Fortunately, the next day, things are back to normal as Cordelia gets a vision of a burning corpse at an ice factory. Angel goes there to investigate. At the factory, he meets an inter-dimensional demon, in search of those who killed the person in Cordelia's vision, and one who will stop the "bringer of chaos". Angel then goes to a security office where he meets another demon, one who fights this time.

Angel survives, and tracks the woman down. When he arrives, a portal opens, and another woman is brought through. However, the demons Angel met earlier arrive, and try to take the women, apparently wanting to kill innocents. Angel helps out, but the newly arrived is taken. This woman is later stripped of her power when the organ at the top of her spine is removed.

The first woman, Jira explains that the women on her world are made slaves this way, as the men fear their power. She had escaped, and now tries to help all the women from her world. She tells Angel to leave, but later the male demons track her down because of large shipments of ice being used to cool down the women.

Thanks to Wesley and Cordelia spying on the demons, Angel is able to arrive in time to help Jira escape with the other women, and stop the men from taking them. Jira demonstrates however that she is willing to see Cordelia and Wesley die to help save her own. Angel however, manages to help them all, but warns that he and Jira could become enemies if her lack of care for other continues.
