Faith is now under Angel's protection, much to Wesley and Cordelia's displeasure. Lindsey and Lyla find this out, and are forced to send out another assassin to take out the first. Meanwhile, Wesley is approached by three members of the Watcher's Council who are after the rogue slayer. At the same time, the police are on Faith's trail as well. With everybody targeting Faith, Angel is stuck in the middle, trying to protect a girl he believes can be set back on the right path. When the second assassin strikes, Angel and Faith take him out together, but this stirs up Faith's emotions once more.

Faith struggles internally once more, and Angel tries to comfort her. Buffy arrives though, and sees the two together, a sight she wasn't expecting. Faith tries to run, but then Wesley arrives and tells Angel of the council's plans. They have mere moments to escape. Buffy and Faith go to the roof, whilst Angel and Wesley hold them off below. Wesley soons gets the upper hand, allowing Angel to go to the roof to help out there.

Lindsey travels to the police station during the fighting and directs Kate towards Angel Investigations. This means that as soon as Angel has defeated the council members, and taken down their helicopter, he is arrested by police. Buffy and Wesley go with Angel and try to protest.

Just as Kate is telling Angel about the nice sunny cell he will receive, they spot Faith who has turned herself in. Clearly something Angel said has had an effect on her, and she is now willing to take her punishment. However, this does little to patch things up with Buffy and Angel. Perhaps this time, things will never be right between them again.
