Angel and Doyle begin to think that Cordelia has settled into her position, but back at home Cordelia is having all sorts of troubles with her fallen down apartment. Meanwhile, the debt collecting demons are coming for Doyle. With several problems to solve, Angel and Doyle make a deal. Doyle helps Cordelia get an apartment so that Cordelia won't have to live with Angel anymore, whilst Angel returns the favour by helping sort out Doyle's debt collection problems.

Doyle's contacts find the perfect apartment for Cordelia, but it turns out to be haunted. Meanwhile, Angel meets the demon tracking Doyle. Griff now wants to kill Doyle, and is no longer concerned about the money. Angel threatens him, and sends him away.

The ghost in Cordelia's house starts to get violent, and the only solution seems to be to use magic to banish the ghost. Angel and Doyle set this up, but before the chant can be finished, two things happen. Griff arrives with more muscle, whilst the ghost attacks Cordelia.

Cordelia stands up to the ghost though, whilst Angel and Doyle fight off the debt collectors. This gives Cordelia a chance to defeat her ghost, and reveal the secret of why it stayed. The ghost, an old lady, had cemented her son inside a wall to stop him from seeing a young girl.

The woman had then died of a heart attack. With the old lady sent away, Dennis, the son, was freed from the wall, and now lives with Cordelia, a peaceful room mate always willing to help out.
