Drusilla is preparing for the "birth" of Darla as she once again becomes a vampire. Meanwhile, Gunn brings Angel back to the hotel, badly injured after his encounter with the guards from Wolfram and Hart, protecting Drusilla. With time running out though, Angel insists that they find Darla and get back out there. She may be dead, but Angel can still save her from becoming a vampire if he gets there in time. The crew figure out where Darla is being kept from what Drusilla said about a birth in a nursery, and the fact that she always uses classic methods.

Angel gets there before Darla rises, but Drusilla attacks him. While they fight, Darla awakens, and joins in. At first she is disorientated, and the fight is a three way battle. Drusilla and Darla escape, leaving Angel to worry what they may do next. Angel goes back to the hotel, preparing for battle, ready for a war.

Back at Wolfram and Hart, Drusilla finds Lindsey, and soon Darla arrives, now the two are properly united once more. As Darla remembers what it is to be a vampire, the two become more dangerous. It isn't long before the killing starts again. Angel, Cordelia, Wesley and Gunn head for the Wolfram and Hart to try and find Darla, but before they get there, Cordelia has a vision.

Against Angel's wishes, they make a diversion, but Angel handles the situation a little quickly, stopping the poor guy worshipping a weak demon, but not offering any further help. Angel then goes on alone to Wolfram and Hart. He meets Holland there for the first time, and is surrounded by guards. They force him from the building whilst Holland tells Angel of the wine tasting evening he has planned.

Angel is handed over to police, but Kate, realising what is happening, lets him go. Angel gets to a shop where Darla and Drusilla had recently been, and learns that the pair are heading for Holland's tasting. He goes after them and finds all the lawyers trapped by the two lady vampires. They beg for help, but Angel, copying what Holland Manners said about people earlier, says "I just can't seem to care".

Angel leaves, locking them in the room, and allowing Darla and Drusilla to take out the lawyers. Later that evening, Angel tells the others what happened, and they are understandably confused and worried. Angel, realising they will only get in the way, decides to fire all three of them.
