Angel encounters a large number of sacrifices occuring as Wolfram and Hart employees prepare for something big. Back at Angel Investigations, Mrs Sharp finds her daughter cured by Wesley, but refuses to pay, and leaves. In the police department, Angel finds that Kate is now under investigation by internal affairs. The attack on the captain with the zombies involving Kate, the release of Angel before Darla attacked Holland Manners, and other incidents have left the cops suspicious of her.

Lindsey doesn't seem worried about the visit by the senior partners, and actually has Darla as a guest as she recovers from her wounds. Angel confronts Wesley and Cordelia, this time just to retrieve a book taken by them. At the same time, Internal Affairs remove Kate from the force and offer her psychiatric help.

After going to Cariatos to find out that Wolfram and Hart are having a review, held every 75 years, Angel revisits a shop he went to in the 1950s when he wanted to help the girl at the hotel. The owner, who remembers Angel, is very helpful, and helps Angel with a glove he can use to take out the demon which will be the form the senior partner will take. Darla arrives though and kills the shop keeper, and takes the glove.

Back at Angel Investigations, Cordelia is offered payment at last from Mrs Sharp, but we see she is being threatened by a demon to lure Cordelia there. Also, Virginia breaks up with Wesley, adding to the huge weight of problems he currently has. Angel though goes off to Wolfram and Hart, ready to use the ring worn by the senior partner to travel to an unknown hell dimension and take out the worst Wolfram and Hart has.

Using Lilah to get in, Angel exposes Darla who is also there for a similar reason, and takes the glove from her. He then kills the senior partner and takes the ring. This grants him access to a lift, now manned by a dead Holland, who explains that Angel is going to the "Home Office". When Angel arrives, the finds that this terrible place where evil exists is in fact just where he started. Realising the futility of things, in total despair he meets Darla and sleeps with her, hoping to forget it all.
