Rumours spread fast, and it seems that everyone already knows about the Troclon. Woflram and Hart, with special projects leader Linford, have surveilance equipment in the hotel, and are monitoring Angel's group, whilst Holtz begins to prepare for a battle with Angel. Wesley translates some more of the scrolls, and learns that the troclon isn't an evil thing or person, but instead a collection of events all coming together at a specified point in time. Sarjhon and Holtz catch up, explaining how Holtz was brought here after the deal they made over 230 years ago. Holtz must now kill Angelus.

Meanwhile, Darla's pregnancy is reaching its final stages, and she is taken to hospital for an inspection (performed by Wesley of course). The scan reveals a human baby boy... perhaps things could work out well after all! Sadly they are forced to leave, with a vampire cult after the child in hot pursuit.

Angel decides not to take everyone back to the hotel, and instead parks nearby, and goes the rest of the way alone to get what they need. He leaves Darla in the hands of his friends, and goes to the hotel. There he finds Holtz, who has just demolished the torture team sent by Wolfram and Hart.

Holtz, with the help of the demons lent to him by Sahjhan, holds Angel prisoner, and the two talk for the first time in centuries. Angel doesn't yet know how Holtz got here, and neither does anyone at Wolfram and Hart (nor do the lawyers even know who he is).

Back at the car, Darla is getting ever nearer to giving birth, and the group are getting worried where Angel may be.
