With Connor gone, Angel is on the hunt for anyone responsible. He is desperate to get his son back, and anybody who steps in his way is in serious risk of being killed. He asks Lorn to find out ways to get to the hell dimension, but comes up with nothing. Meanwhile, Gunn and Fred look for Wesley, and bump into Holtz's old friends Justine and company. Having already slit Wesley's throat, Justine lets them go, but tells them nothing about their friend. Meanwhile, Angel takes more drastic members, and storms Wolfram and Hart.

Angel takes Linwood, head of special projects, and superior to Lilah Morgan, hostage, and begins torturing him. He doesn't have to do much though before Linwood puts him in contact with Lilah with instructions to let him go to the "White Room", a place where Angel can find out how to reach his son.

This is a little optimistic though, but Angel has hope. He can use a spell to make Sahjhan whole once more. He can then get his hands on Sahjhan to open the rift to the hell dimension again, allowing Angel to go after his son. Whilst Angel does this, Fred and Gunn try to find out what Wesley did it for, and find Wesley's diary with the prophecy translation.

With Sahjhan on the loose, Angel goes after the demon, and elements of the episode all come together. Sahjhan at his home, finds Justine, Gunn and Fred, and later Angel. Fred and Gunn explained about the prophecy earlier, but now Angel discovers that Sahjhan, once capable of moving through time, altered the prophecy long ago, and manipulated Wesley to take the child away.

Sahjhan also reveals that he can't reopen the tear to the hell dimension, so Connor is sealed forever. It turns out that Connor was the target all along, as he was destined to kill Sahjhan. Finally Justing traps Sarjhon in a mystical urn just as Angel is on his last legs fighting Sahjhan, she then tells Gunn, Fred and Angel where to find Wesley. They find the site of the attack, but no Wesley.

Later, Angel receives a call via Lorn, from Gunn and Fred. They have found Wesley in hospital. Angel goes there, apparently quite forgiving, and starts to explain how he understands why Wesley did what he did, given what he knew, but then says he'll never forgive Wesley, ever, and tries to kill him. Three staff and Gunn come in to stop Angel, and he gives up the fight, but it seems these wounds will never heal.
