Cordelia is going off on a date with powerful fashion designer Wilson Christopher, but has a vision of an egg hatching, which Angel and Wesley are left to take care of. Cordelia's date goes a little too fast however, and she ends up pregnant the next morning. Wesley and Cordelia later discover it is seven offspring, all demon. Serena and several other girls who had been out with Cordelia that night are in a similar predicament. Meanwhile Cordelia seems to be growing a slight affection for her demon offspring, which Wesley finds extremely odd given her initial reaction, and the fact that these are demons.

Angel learns from Serena that the men involved often hang out at a gun club. He heads there and takes them on, fighting them until they tell him where to find the demon. The demon in question has been using these men to impregnate women with the demon spawn. Wesley however finds out that this demon, a Haxil demon is huge, and has a telepathic link to all its children, and their hosts.

This link forces all the affected women to go to the demon's lair, as if under a spell, and once there they will await the hatching. However, Angel and Wesley know that if they take out the demon, the connection will be severed, and the women freed without harm. This leaves just the one problem, how to take out this huge demon. They do it the Jaws way in the end.

Angel throws a cannister of liquid nitrogen at the demon, and Wesley takes a shot at it. This sends liquid nitrogen all over the massive demon, freezing it, and its link to the women. Now freed, Cordelia swings a large heavy pulley towards the demon, shattering its frozen body. A lucky escape from a nasty birth!
