When Angel, Wesley and Cordelia are patrolling the streets, they encounter a film star during a public appearence. The star is nearly hit by a car, but saved at the last moment by Angel. Later on, this star tracks Angel down, and tells him she would like him to be her bodyguard, and asks him to investigate the attempts on her life. He refuses for two reasons - firstly that it isn't demon trouble, just human matters, but also because he likes her, and worries about his curse.

Despite saying no, Angel does keep an eye on her, and is able to prevent another attempt on the star's life. However, she sees that he has no reflection, and realises what he is. To Angel's surprise though, she is not afraid, and asks him again to be her bodyguard. This time he accepts.

After several more attempts on her life, Angel meets with her at his home, and they drink together. However, she drugs Angel's drink, sending Angel into a moment of happiness, so he becomes Angelus. Fortunately Angelus likes to play with his victims, otherwise it is unlikely anyone would have survived.

Angelus sticks around to chat, and make fun of each person, giving Wesley a chance to knock the vampire out. This gives them time to let the drugs wear off, allowing Angel to recover and get back to normal. A close, but exciting episode!
