Cordelia gets a vision, prompting Angel Investigations to head off to an underground temple-like structure. Here they slay a demon, but throughout the fight, it is clear that Angel is off his game. On the way home, Angel thinks he sees Darla. Back at the hotel, Angel tells Cordelia and Wesley about the dreams he's been having, and about seeing Darla, here in Los Angeles. Meanwhile, Lindsey and Darla discuss how things are going with Angel, and Kate finds out about Angel moving.

A new case arrives, a man seeking to find out if his wife is having an affair, or is really being kidnapped by aliens. Angel and crew go and investigate, and although the case is short-lived, Angel sees Darla, and confronts her. She denies knowing him, and pretends to be a loving wife, and regular human.

Angel tracks her down, convinced she is Darla still, though apparently brought back as human by Wolfram and Hart. He finds her, but things have been setup. Darla is injured, and her acting husband murdered by a vampire working for Wolfram and Hart. Angel walks in, and is framed for murder. Kate uses this to go after him.

Angel however is not easily put off, and after escaping, he kidnaps Darla. Whilst he is off talking to her, Kate goes to the hotel and confronts Welsey, Gunn and Cordelia. The crew point out that Angel couldn't have entered without an invite, and Wesley shows Kate a picture of Darla from over a century ago... the same woman from this evening.

Angel takes Darla to the temple visited earlier, and there they are reunited once more, but not in the way they used to be. Darla is human, and Angel points out that soon her soul will start to eat at her, reminding her of all her past victims. Darla leaves though, ashamed that Angel(us) will not turn her, or join her as things used to be.
