The episode starts with Lindsey, now equipped with his fake hand again, clearly struggling after the reminder given to him by Angel that things are never the same without his old hand. All this, and at the same time, Lindsey and Lilah are due up for review, only one will continue as special projects leader.
Cordelia is in more pain though as she gets a vision of a man stabbing himself in the eye. Angel and crew start tracking down the source, but have little to go on. Only the possibility of school kids at the house.

The meeting to discuss the soon to occur review goes well for Lindsey, and he is told by his supervisor, Nathan, that he will be having a new appointment today. He goes to Fairfield Clinic, where he has an operation, with demonic assistance, to give him a new hand. He discovers though that the hand is evil, and writes only "Kill". He decides to go to to Cariatos, and sing to the Host.
Once there he meets Angel and crew, all of which approve of Lindsey's singing except for Angel. The Host tells them that their cases are the same, and that they will need to work together on this one. Lindsey storms out, but Angel uses the fingerprints from Lindsey's glass to track down the donar. Lindsey and Angel both arrive at a parole officer's house together, and begin their interrogation.
Together, Angel and Lindsey track the address given to them by the officer, and find a store room for spare parts, with people in pods ready for donation. They release as many as they can, but the donar of Lindsey's hand asks Lindsey to kill him, which he does, setting him free from the torture. Angel then blows up the facility.
Later, at the review, Nathan, representing the interests of Wolfram and Hart, decides to choose Lindsey. As Lilah prepares to pull a gun, Lindsey stops her, and takes out the security guard. He tells them how much power Lilah has, and how they should have picked her. He says he is leaving, and that they should not follow. Thanks for the evil hand he adds. Later, Angel comes to see him off, the two parting not as friends, but apparently with respect for eachother.
