Angel and the whole group come back to the hotel with Connor. Angel is extremely protective however, and will let nobody touch him. At the same time, Lorn comes over as a guest, as his bar is now trashed, again, he feels they owe him that much. With a huge list of enemies now clustering outside the hotel, Lorn puts a protection spell up to prevent people leaving or entering. However, the arrival of Lilliad demons suggests this won't last long.

Whilst Cordelia, Fred, Gunn, Wesley and Lorn track down as many potential enemies as possible, Angel takes care of Connor upstairs, and discovers that the one face that calms the child down fully is his vampire form. Back at Wolfram and Hart, Lilah looks up Holtz.

Meanwhile, Holtz himself goes after a new group of helpers, no demons this time. He first finds Justine, a young woman who lost her sister to vampires very recently. Back at the hotel, as Angel tries to prove to Cordelia he will take care of the baby whatever happens, Lorn secretly passes a note to Angel, and mentions that the only quiet place is the janiter's closet.

What Lorn means is that he can hear the surveillance from Wolfram and Hart, but things are clean inside the closet. Afterwards, Angel returns and says he is leaving the group to delay the enemy, whilst Angel runs for it, drawing them after him. With Gunn's extra fire power, they tackle the intruders well despite the remarks made to Angel as he leaves.

Wolfram and Hart surveillance means they are right behind Angel, and many other demons just behind that. They follow Angel to a quarry and corner him. Here he gives up the baby and runs... but they find that the baby is in fact a bomb in a blanket. It explodes, getting rid of many enemies. Angel then goes to meet Cordelia and co at the hospital where he finds his child with a clean health record. Here he names his baby. Connor.
