For a long time now, Cordelia's visions have been gradually worsening, and each time seem to take a little bit more out of her. This time though, she appears to be in a coma, though we can see her walking around as a spirit type being, unable to talk to any of the rest of the crew. She tries to tell them what is happening in her vision, but Angel is more interested in finding out what's wrong with her. He discovers medical records and pills all related to a serious deterioration of Cordelia's brain, so serious that doctor's say she shouldn't be alive still.

Whilst Angel tries to contact the Powers That Be, Skip appears and talks to Cordelia. He shows her what will happen if she gets another vision, she will die. He offers her an alternative. What if she had never met Angel in Los Angeles? She would have become a famous star with her own show.

She is given the chance to experience this, but seems to remember her vision. She hunts it down, and meets Wesley and Gunn. They take her to Angel who has been given the visions in this reality. He is insane, after losing his only friend Doyle, and getting the visions as well. Without her, they will fail.

She now remembers everything, so Skip returns asking her what she wants to do about it. He lets slip that the only way to cope with the visions would be to become a demon, so Cordelia accepts. She lets herself get turned into a demon, willing to take the risk of side effects.

Later, back at Angel Investigations, she wakes up, surprising everyone, and starts talking. She then tells them of the vision she is having (with no pain it seems). The most strange thing though... she's floating.
