The Toltecs were described as the first to
civilize, the first city builders, and the originators of craft
skills and astrological knowledge. One of the major questions
surrounding the Toltec is whether or not they truly existed? There are
many disagreements concerning their three major chronologies of rulers
(kings) that state different years for different rulers. These
inconsistencies are just one aspect that has puzzled scholars. However,
there is strong archaeological evidence that this militaristic group
that emerged around the 10th century and declined around the 12th
century, did in fact exist.
