PROJECT PROFILE
The Bradford Robotic Telescope allows students to access and use this telescope to view constellations.  Students track and plot a constellation and research the history of the constellation.  Students study the history of a culture and interpret how the society came to identify particular constellations.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this project, students will be able to:
1) Identify & plot the position of a constellation.
2) Research the history of the naming of the constellation.
3) Report upon the effects of societal perspectives in the naming of a constellation.
4) Report on how the differences in cultures impacts perspective.
5) Report on the etymology of words.
6) Create a fiction story based upon historical documentation.

CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT
--One computer in the classroom with Internet access, slow connection, school lab is available for scheduled times.
--Instructional strategy: implement the project using the "jigsaw" classroom approach.
--Develop "Behavior Plan" to facilitate cooperative groups.
--Create jobs for each group member: data collector & reviewer, plotter, checker, results reporter, historian, and taskmaster.
