Journal Page Summer 2006
Not much done over the Summer either...

July 17th, 2006 - Some small progress...I cleaned more undercoating from the rear underside.  Its starting to look pretty clean back there.  I'm only found a few spots with loose paint, and they only had some surface rust.  The brake line, fuel line, and vapor lines were getting in my way so I finally removed them.

Left to-do before I can start reassembly:
-Finish stripping undercoating from the axle rearwards (75% done).
-Clean and coat the brake, fuel, and vapor lines.
-Clean surface rust from bare spots and front spring mounts, and paint.

I pulled the front wheel well liners while trying to get the brake, etc. lines out, so now I have to clean them too!

August 7th, 2006 - Amazingly, incredibly, agonizingly slow progress!  I finally completed cleaning the undercoating off of the front wheel well liners and off all of the fuel, brake, and vapor lines.  I still have to coat the lines with something...they are about half covered in surface rust and about half bare clean steel (where the undercoating was attached).  I'm leaning towards self-etching primer followed by one of Eastwoods metal paints.  Maybe a top coat of the "chrome" paint to brighten them up a little.

I also managed to get one set of "2.3" letters roughly cut from aluminum plate.  They look great so far.  If I do a careful (i.e. time consuming) job on the detail work, they will look great.  Attaching them to the valve cover should be a hoot...

I worked one weekend at the
Barber Motorsports Park as a Paddock Marshall.  Exhausting weekend, but it was lots of fun being around the Daytona Prototypes, etc. in the Paddock area.  The MCA 30th Anniversary show will be there in 3 weeks.  Only one club meeting left before the show...
