| Date: 18/08/2002 Trail: Gerlong - Parongpong - Pangheotan - Sukawana - Jayagiri Weather : Cloudy Participants: Buta, Deni Huntu, Artadi, Anker, Bambing, Dino, Eri Irama, Oo, Sam, Mita, Freddy, Opiek, Bayu, Bucong Start at 08.00 headed to Parongpong. At the Peak, Buta, Deni huntu, Artadi go back home. We didnt bought 'nasi bungkus' at Parongpong because it's Freddy's birthday and we expected a big lunch at 'brebes'. After long and exhausting journey (and 2 times fell down for mita - new cleat) across the tea plantation, we took the Tower trail. We met some friends from Lembang Bike Group (LBG), they were cross countrying at the tea plantation prepared with directional arrow at some intersection. About 1 km from the edge of the tea plantation to the Tower trail, we turned right at the Perhutani trail. It's a very long down hill trail of dirt, highly curved, not too steep, with bushes all over us. We passed the pinus forest (with its very thick fallen leaf along the trail), and the trail is getting narrower, as narrow as our handle bar. Combined with the low temperature of the area, this trail is very exciting. We end up at the Sukawana - Cikole road, so we have to pedalling again to Jayagiri valley, and had a downhill one more time. Anker and Eri fell down in here, Anker had a ball on the knee, and Eri looks like he was kept in the storage for years. And Bayu had 2 times of flat tires ! So at 3 pm we had a very late lunch at 'brebes', and ....ok, happy birthday Freddy! |
