I first will present some of my best Meteor Scatter radio contacts /QSO/ on the 144MHz Amateur band. Meteor Scatter radio communication is based on reflection of the electromagnetic waves from traces left by falling meteorites. They burn intensively and make the air "reflective". Usually this effect lasts for some seconds to minute, so as fast transmission as possible is needed.

The beauty of it is that the time occurence of falling meteorites is known and Meteor Scatter QSO between Radio Amateurs are scheduled on regular basis. We used to stay all night long, "shooting" for yet another falling "stone".
